MacGyver 405: Soccer + Desi + Merchant + Titan
Desi uses her soccer-I mean fútbol-skills to infiltrate one of Codex’s means of making money.

In Italy, a psychopathic Brit(James Callis) and a Hungarian named Kristina(Anya Bogomazova) from Codex retrieve a long distance murder weapon from a tinkerer(Michael Mazzeo) with a pet rabbit. The tinkerer dies; the rabbit lives.
Russ Loves Soccer fútbol and Conspiracy Theories
Russ needs sleep. And a bath.

Russ(Henry Ian Cusick), unwashed, and sleep deprived, has a whiteboard of codes. He has actually used this formula to find a way that Codex is raking in funds-throwing soccer games.
Desi(Levy Tran) is recruited to pose as a soccer player to infiltrate the teams because she has mad skills. MacGyver(Lucas Till) poses as a member of the paparazzi, Russ as his pompous self, Bozer(Justin Hires) as Desi’s promoter, and Riley(Tristin Mays) as a server.
Desi Sees the Deadly Device Work
Never ask the gang for pep talks.

Desi finds a soccer player, Gabriella(Jade Albany), alone.

Gabriella tells her that she is in financial distress, and Merchant(the killer British guy) covered her debts, under the condition that she throws games for him. She gives Desi the business card of the exclusive gambling club where Merchant operates.

Gabriella feels ashamed, and that she has betrayed her family. Leaving Desi, she leads Mac and his camera right to Merchant.
Gabriela tells him she is done throwing games, and goes onto the soccer field.
Using the device, he kills her right in front of Desi’s eyes.
Angry, Desi decides to pose as corruptible to take Gabriela’s place.
Gambling and Accidentally Winning
The happy, pretend married couple.

Going to the gambling club, MacGyver and Riley pose as a married couple, much to Riley’s delight. Desi’s job is to lose a lot of Russ’s money, to draw Merchant out so the team can apprehend him.

The problem? She starts winning big, and MacGyver has to use magnetic fields to stop her winning streak.
Attracting Merchant, Desi is led away to meet him in private, and he offers her money to throw a game. She agrees, but Russ cancels the Merchant kidnapping mission when he hears a phone call. The head of Codex-Titan-is coming to meet with Merchant.

Heading out to the field, Merchant and Kristina grab Desi and inject her with a device of her own. If she doesn’t throw the match, she dies. If she does throw the match, Codex makes millions. She decides to trust MacGyver to save her, and refuses to throw the match.

Using everyone in the stadium’s phones, Riley and Mac jam Merchant’s device just in time. Mac runs onto the field, and he and Desi kiss, much to Riley’s dismay. Her romantic feelings for Mac since Germany have not changed, it seems.

But Titan, Kristina, and Merchant have disappeared, and there is no trace of them. On the plane home, Russ admits that he has become obsessed with finding Titan and bringing down Codex.
On the plane, Russ receives a call. In disbelief, he calls Matty(Meredith Eaton) to come in to The Phoenix Foundation at 2 am.

It seems that facial recognition software has identified Titan-It’s Matty.
