What Do you Do Here, Exactly?

Bozer(Justin Hires) and Russ(Henry Ian Cusick) are having a pissing contest to prove their worth to each other.
Bozer finds a bomb at a museum. Russ finds a way to actually get the bomb from the museum.

Using the pristine bomb as a guide, Bozer tells Mac how to defuse it. The bomb uses acetone as catalyst for reaching the firing pin. The acetone is sealed in a glass vial. When broken, the vial sets off the chain of events that will finally detonate the bomb. The windmilling tail of the bomb was supposed to break the vial as the bomb dropped. The whole process is explained here. The problem? Mac’s bomb is less than pristine, and the hatch that opens to the acetone vial is rusted shut. Not only that, but because every WWII bomb was made by hand, so there is no hard and fast rule about exactly how and when they will detonate.

As Riley and Mac move the bomb using a makeshift hand truck , the building shifts and the bomb falls off the loader, nearly taking out Riley. Mac rescues her, but as a result the acetone firing pin has been cracked; therefore, it is only a matter of time before the bomb explodes.

Eggsactly What We Need

MacGyver 404 Windmill

Mac tells Riley that he and Desi were never a good match.  Mac just fears that he will be alone. He tells Riley that every time he goes on a mission, he imagines dying, and that he is alone. Riley takes his hand and tells him that he is never alone. She also possibly sees something she didn’t see in Mac before.

Remembering what they were teaching the scouts, Mac and Riley make a giant egg cage to drop the bomb safely out of the building.

No Longer Tilting at the Codex Windmill

While neither have set titles, Russ and Bozer nevertheless realize that they are both vital to the group’s mission.

Looking through some of Bozer’s research into the bomb, he sees something familiar in an old WWII photo: the mysterious logo that has been popping up. The terrorist group Mac and the team has been up against is far older and far more deeply rooted than Russ and his team could have imagined. They have a real name, at least: The Codex.
