Riley’s $##% Father
Riley’s(Tristin Mays) absentee father, Elwood(guest appearance by Billy Baldwin), meets her in a park to talk with her. He is going through what must be a twelve step program, as he is looking for forgiveness. Riley tells him that he has not deserved to be her father, and rightly tells him he never will be. She hides the meeting from Jack(George Eads), and has Cage(Isabel Lucas) analyze the footage she filmed to see if he is lying. Cage says no, but Riley seems not to care. She makes MacGyver keep mum, too. Elwood still is no father.
The Heist
Matty(Meredith Eaton) sends the gang to capture art thief Enzo who is using the money to fund terrorism. Bozer(Justin Hires) is kept behind for much needed formal training. Good thing, too, as we discover later.
MacGyver(Lucas Till) and Jack are tasked with stealing an authentic piece of art from a wealthy collector, as the thief will know a fake.
Jack, of course, does not know fine art, and in the middle of the heist, he sits on a piece of art, tripping all the alarms. They get away, but only just.
Bozer Goes Back to School

Phoenix must hold classes everywhere besides online(I hope you get that joke), as Bozer is taking a class. Good thing, too, as he catches some strange goings on during a run. With the help of classmate Leanna(Reign Edwards), they investigate the stranger.
The Pawn Takes MacGyver
MacGyver, Jack and Riley take the pilfered art to be authenticated by the thief’s assistant. Pawn(nerd favorite actor and nice guy Curtis Armstrong-if you don’t know him, turn in your nerd card) not only authenticates the art, he steals it by switching the art with a fake.
Jack Takes A Punch
The gang sans Bozer is in pursuit, Riley and Jack getting captured. Enzo is torturing Jack in front of a shocked Riley, and he threatens to kill Enzo if he touches her. Luckily, Mac and Cage rush in, MacGyver using packing peanuts and fire to create a diversion, and Jack gets his revenge on slime Enzo.
Bozer the Hero
While Mac and the gang were capturing an international art thief, Bozer and Leanna captured a spy that could have compromised the entire corporation.
Matty the Cat
Matty has invited herself into Riley’s biological father’s apartment, and makes it clear that if he hurts her, or is trying to manipulate her, Matty will handle him. Which actually made me relax.
Thoughts on MacGyver Season 2X08
Notice that I keep emphasizing that Elwood is only Riley’s biological father. Just saying. Jack raised her. He’s the Yondu of this show.
I love Leanna! I hope we see more of Reign.
