The new season of Preacher is upon us!
- Preacher Season 2×1 “On the Road” teaches how to get the taste of blood out, and gives us the best earworm ever!

The season starts with one of the best car chases ever put to screen. Even if you don’t watch Preacher, WATCH THAT CAR CHASE.
Cassidy(Joseph Gilgun) loves a good car chase.

Cassidy(Joseph Gilgun) screams like a girl when being tackled by a police officer, and we see Tulip(Ruth Negga) is not a fan of Jesse’s(Dominic Cooper) power.
Sadly, as we are dealing with the unholy trinity here, it ends badly, after a funny beginning and middle of the scene.

We are introduced to The Saint of Killers in his immortal form after mostly meeting him in backstory in season one, and he is just as remorseless here.
Preacher Mike
The trio meet up with Preacher Mike, unorthodox and gruff, and Ashley. But mostly Mike. He is a long time friend of Jesse’s, having even married Jesse’s parents. Mike has not felt the presence of God lately, and believes Jesse’s story about Genesis-especially after Jesse uses the Word on him. He finally thinks of a clue, and sends the trio off.
Badass that Preacher Mike is, when he meets The Saint of Killers soon after, it is on his own terms.
We see what happens to Mike, but what about Ashley?

She She’s
Jesse, Cassidy, and Tulip track down Mike’s parishoner at a strip club, and she is tough as nails, so her story about seeing God rings true, instead of psychotic.
The discussion between Jesse and Tulip about using The Word is hilarious. Cassidy’s theory about strip clubs is a bit off, and results in fatal gunfire, but the trio has another clue.
The three find a hotel, and Jesse learns that the Word doesn’t work on everyone, while Cassidy sees an old acquaintance on television…
The search has begun!
Thoughts
Definitely a 9/10 ep; it would have been higher if I wasn’t a pet lover…
I love the start of this episode; it’s a great reintroduction, and is faithful to the all out insanity of the comic.
Is it just me, or is Cassidy beyond adorable when he does the “No! No! Nonono!” And while we’re on the subject of Cassidy, what is it with his obsession with the number three?
Preacher Mike was an epic addition, and the switcheroo with what you thought was going on with Ashley had me laughing hard.
We don’t realize that the trio have no idea about Annville until this episode, and just how inportant that place meant to one of them in particular until the next episode.
