Music Monday – Bryan Adams
This week seeing as it was his birthday yesterday I am looking at the Canadian mega musician and music marvel. We are looking at the man who can sing, write songs, play guitar, produce records and even win our hearts with his smile. That’s right welcome to Music Monday – Bryan Adams.
The Man
Bryan Guy Adams was born on the 5th of November 1959. At 15 he was in the small club band Sweeney Todd and was able co write some songs on their album. After a year he left them and at 17 was a background vocalist at the Vancouver studio scene. He released his first album in 1980 which was called Bryan Adams. A year later he released another album named You want it you got it and this was recorded in only two weeks.
He rose to fame when he released his breakout album Cuts like a knife in 1983. This album contained hits like Straight from the Heart and Cuts like a knife helping the album sell. The album did well in Canada and the United states but poorly elsewhere at the time. A year later he released an album called Reckless with global consequences for him. From this album he released two well-known songs Run to You and Summer of 69.
Well known songs
In 1991 he released one song from the album that was on the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves soundtrack. This song was Everything I do, I do it for You which spent a record 16 weeks at no 1 in the UK charts. This track was on the album Waking up the Neighbours along with Cant stop this thing we started.
Bryan Adams collaborated with Rod Stewart and Sting on a single called All for Love which was part of the soundtrack to The Three Musketeers in 1993. This was a world-wide hit shown by it topping the charts in many countries.
Over the years he has released albums and songs that together would make this post long if I mentioned them all. In total he has released over 13 albums with a new Compilation album Ultimate this year.
Lastly
There is a staggering 19 tours performed over the years including The Ultimate Tour. The Ultimate Tour is next year and coincides with his latest album. His tours started back in 1981 when his career started to lift off showing he was committed to his art at the very start.
Awards are our last stop where he has managed to get 18 Juno awards over the years. 18 Grammy Nominations with a win for Everything I do I do it for you in 1992. He had Nominations and wins for many different awards ranging through them all including Golden Globes, AMA and MTV awards.
