Mieruko Chan “I See Them Too” Review

Mieruko Chan “I See Them Too” is the fifth episode of the Mieruko Chan anime. Following Miko’s inability to scare off the ghosts using prayer beads in episode 4. This episode partly follows Yuria. A new character who, opposite to Miko, is open about her ability to see spirits. To certain people of course.

Review

This was a good one. With the most perfect way to introduce Yuria. She’s not what anyone would expect. Despite her being able to see ghosts since she was a child (unlike Miko.) She’s secretive about it because of people mocking her should she say something. She’s determined to be the world’s best spiritualist and embraces her gifts though, again, unlike Miko. However near the end of this episode Miko uses her gift to help out an old lady suffering from dementia using her gift to help a family in need.

The two different paths the two characters walk is fascinating as it opens up a world of opportunity. Yulia is convinced that Miko just thinks she’s better than her but Miko realises that Yulia can only see certain types of ghosts. Only the little ones for now. With the big scary ones being completely shielded from her. That explains a lot already about why the two have such different methods when dealing with ghosts.

The episode ends without coming to a conclusion on how Yulia and Miko’s relationship will develop but I feel like that’ll be one for next episode.
