Medical Drama New Amsterdam gets Series Order at NBC
Happy Sunday Fandemaniacs! We’ve got some exciting news to tell you. As we just heard – the new Medical Drama New Amsterdam lands a series order at NBC! It’s the first series order from NBC’s pilot crop for the 2018-2019 seasons. (I have a feeling that this show has huge potential)
New Amsterdam
It’s inspired by the oldest public hospital in America – Bellevue!
The series follows the brilliant and charming Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold), who’s the institution’s newest medical director. His goal is it to tear up the bureaucracy and provide exceptional care.
Dr. Goodwin will stop at nothing to give this understaffed, underfunded and underappreciated hospital new and fresh air.
It’s the only hospital in the world that is capable of treating Ebola patiens, prisoners from Rikers and the President of the United States under one roof.
Max Goodwin’s mission to bring back the glory of this hospital will keep us all glued to our TV’s – that’s just my guess tho. I’m already excited about this new show!
Who else will be joining Ryan Eggold in the cast for New Amsterdam?
Here are the actors/actresses who will join New Amsterdam alongside Ryan Eggold:
- Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who, Sense 8)
- Janet Montgomery (Black Swan, Salem)
- Jocko Sims (Jarhead, Dreamgirls)
- Anupam Kher
- Tyler Labine (Tucker and Dale vs Evil, Reaper)
David Schulner (Desperate Housewives, American Odyssey) and Peter Horton will write and executive produce. Kate Dennis (The Alice, Secretary) will direct and executive produce and Dr. Eric Manheimer will produce New Amsterdam.
The show is produced by Universal Television, Pico Creek Productions and Mount Moriah.
To be honest I’m already hyped about that show and can’t wait to learn more about it! Follow along as we will keep you up to date about New Amsterdam. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
