Marvel’s Runaways to End with S3
It’s been a serious case of Good News, Bad News for fans of Marvel’s Runaways. Today brought the release of the full trailer for the upcoming third season, but also news that Marvel’s Runaways is to end.
First up, let’s take a look at this full trailer
Expanding on the trailer we saw at NYCC, this gives us more of a look at the crossover with Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger (Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph) as well as lots more of Elizabeth Hurley’s villainous turn as Morgan Le Fay. She is set on bringing out the darkness that has begun to possess Nico (Lyrica Okano), and it seems like that is going to be the driving force of the season. That along with the fact that the Magistrate (aka Jonah) and his family are now possessing Victor Stein (James Marsters), Tina Minoru (Brittany Ishibashi) and Stacey Yorkes (Brigid Brannagh), as well as one other unknown person.

On the official Marvel YouTube channel, the caption for the above trailer runs as follows;
Will they submit to the darkness? Marvel’s Runaways returns for its final season December 13 on Hulu
And that seems to be the first most people have heard that the show is ending.
Given how much the upcoming crossover with Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger was hyped, and how amazingly well received the panel and season premiere were at this year’s NYCC it has come as quite a shock to many fans. Although if one considers that Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger was recently cancelled over at FreeForm despite the potential new fans the crossover could have brought in, it’s maybe less of a surprise. The Marvel live action TV show roster has dwindled over the last couple of years, with Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD also to end after the upcoming season. Could this be due to the advent of Disney+? I suppose we will have to wait and see.
