Marvel’s Runaways at NYCC 2019
Today at New York Comic Con, cast and crew of Marvel’s Runaways took to the Hulu Stage at Madison Square Garden. Head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb and the show’s creators and exec producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz were joined by cast members Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Allegra Acosta, and Gregg Sulkin to present an exclusive trailer to waiting fans. Check it out below, including a first look at Elizabeth Hurley as this season’s big bad, Morgan Le Fey!
So, favourite part?
Personally, I’m a big fan of that iconic comic book moment at the end where Nico manifests the Staff of One from inside herself, but the whole thing is pretty badass! Especially when fellow teen superheroes Cloak and Dagger pop up. Everyone in the cast and crew seemed pretty psyched for the upcoming crossover.
Season Three Premiere!
The lucky fans in the Hulu Theatre were also treated to the ENTIRE first episode of season 3, over two whole months before it airs. Trust me when I say you are in for a treat. The episode felt cinematic, and it’s action packed. One of our friends, who has never watched the show, came with us to the panel. She enjoyed it so much she is planning to start the show.
Panel Highlights included:
- Runaways creator Brian K Vaughan showed up and asked a question, whipping the whole place into a frenzy. He also told the cast he Lamps them. Then he came and sat right next to us, which was kind of a trip!
- Each of the cast and crew turning to the person on their left and telling them why they loved them. It was truly touching to see how much this group of people are like family.
- We got a recorded message from Elizabeth Hurley where she “spoiled” the entire season…only not really cos it was all bleeped out. It did make everyone laugh though, as it sounded like she was swearing A LOT!
I can’t really say much more without spoiling any of the premiere. Be prepared for a bit of an emotional ride in the first episode. It’s going to throw it alllll out there.
