Manifest : Water Landing Round Table Review

We are back with another round table review for Manifest Season 3 Episode 5 called “Water Landing”. Joining me (Rike) on this one are Mandy and Anna Maria. Are you guys ready? Let’s do this!

This Manifest review contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.

Manifest: Water Landing Synopsis

Michaela’s (Melissa Roxburgh) premonition leads her to pursue a fugitive. Ben (Josh Dallas) tries to gain the trust of an unlikely ally. Olive’s (Luna Blaise) relationship with Levi (Will Peltz) leads to a fascinating discovery. Jared (J.R. Ramirez) and Drea (Ellen Tamaki) uncover devastating secrets. Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) finds herself faced with a dilemma that may jeopardize the Eureka project.

Your opinion about this episode in general?

R: What a rollercoaster ride throughout the whole episode. I really enjoyed watching Water Landing, especially with this specific calling. We love and hate Mick for not hiding and facing the danger every single time. This time I was really worried and maybe my heart was beating a bit faster in some scenes. Have to admit that. Well done!

M: This was an exciting episode. There was so much happening at once. I however was annoyed with Doctor Gupta (Mahira Kakkar) and her saying the passengers are unicorns. I wonder how things will turn out with Ben letting them do test on him. It’s not gonna end so well I think. I am also glad the story with the major is over, at least I hope so. But it’s probably gonna be left open for a bit. Angelina (Holly Taylor) and Pete (Devin Harjes) finally being able to see each other in person again and being able to hug each other had me in awe.

AM: I think it was another fun episode. I love the amount of screentime Jared got, even though I miss him and Mick having scenes together. I also think it’s good to see Saanvi struggle with her choices and hiding the truth.

Mick telling Drea the truth. Thoughts?

AM: Drea deserved to know the truth. And now she could be more helpful and more easily cooperate with Mick as well.

M: I am so happy Drea finally knows the truth. I was so confused she never asked about it before. Since they’ve talked about callings around Drea in previous episodes. Now Drea can be a real good friend to Michaela now that she knows.

R: I was waiting for Mick to finally open up about everything. This is a start. Now Drea knows what’s going on and I’m sure she wants to know more soon. Her reaction was kind of normal in my opinion, but I guess she didn’t want to freak out about it too much. Maybe she expected something really strange already?

Re-opening the family restaurant? A good idea to start over for Grace and Tarik?

M: Ahhh, I love this idea so much. It would be so cool if that restaurant would come. I’d love it if they’d hire Zeke, since he can also cook. I’ve been wanting for Grace to open up her own restaurant a long time, so I’m really excited about this.

R: I really love this idea, except the fact that they would be back in the spotlight again. Especially now that this stranger is sneaking around. Let’s hope that he won’t harm them. But imagine them really doing this and maybe getting some co-workers like Zeke or Angelina and Olive. That would be pretty cool.

AM: I think that would be cool! And it could be a nice way to gather some of the characters in the restaurant too, either as co-workers as suggested from Mandy and Rike, or just as guests.

Do you think Saanvi should finally confess what she did?

R: I would love for Saanvi to finally tell the truth because I do believe it would help her dealing with everything. But like Anna Maria and Mandy already said, this one is going to be dangerous. There would definitely be consequences. Is this worth the risk for Saanvi? Ruining the lives of others by opening up about what really happened? That’s definitely a tough one.

AM: Yes, I do! Especially Ben deserves to know, and she’s definitely struggling with it, so I think it’s time to step forward. Although she will be in danger by doing so, but I still think it’s the right thing to do.

M: Hmm, this is a hard one. I mean ‘’the truth will set you free’’. But if Saanvi would confess not only her life/job would be in danger, but also Vance’s and Emmet’s (Brendan Burke). Besides, after the new discovery of what happened in Episode 6 spoiler alert If the passengers would find out Saanvi killed the major and therefore may be responsible for them not to survive their death dates, she might be in danger and people are going to be very mad at her. Sometimes it’s best to let things stay hidden.

What do you think about “The Last Trial” callings? Do you want the meth heads to survive?

AM: It’s a really interesting concept. I don’t need Jace (James McMenamin) to survive, but I wouldn’t mind Kory (DazMann Still) and Pete to survive. I feel like there’s a reason they were brought back, and it would be strange if none of them survived, so I hope at least Pete, who we’ve seen most of those 3, will get his redemption.

M: The Last Trial calling looked SO intense. I just want them to get rid of Jace to be honest. He really gets on my nerves. I would love for Kory and Pete to survive though but it’s probably gonna be all or nothing. If there’s any chance for Kory and Pete to live I hope they can. They both deserve their fair chance at a good life and some peace since they never were able to get it.

R: This calling was quite interesting in my opinion. At first I was so shocked, because I thought it was supposed to be a “dark” calling. Now I do hope that Jace won’t hurt anyone else. He has done enough already. I really want redemption for Kory and Pete though- not so sure about Jace if you ask me. But it’s either all of them or none of them. Damn I really don’t know. Tough one. But I also don’t want Angelina to suffer again, now that she just got to know Pete a bit.

Sarah Fitz (Lauren Norvelle)? Possible new love interest for Jared?

M: Since we already know there’s gonna be a love interest for Jared this season I do think it’s Sarah. But like JR already said multiple times before ‘’It’s Jared, so it’s probably not gonna last very long’’. I don’t think Sarah is here to stay since Jared still has feelings for Michaela. The love triangle between Zeke, Michaela and Jared is far from over I think, even though Zeke and Michaela are married.

R: I don’t want to start a ship war with this question, but to be honest I wouldn’t be sad with them maybe getting to know each other a bit better. For now it’s just Jared trying to help Sarah dealing with her loss… but who knows what’s still to come? You never know with everything going on, that’s for sure.

AM: I can definitely see the writers going there, although as a #Jachaela shipper I don’t like it. But even if they go there, I can’t imagine it’s gonna last for long. I second what Mandy said, I believe the love triangle between Zeke, Michaela and Jared is still very much alive.
