Manifest Season 3 Finale

Your opinion about this season finale in general?

M: It was heartbreaking and so painful. I cried my eyes out and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time watching. WOW what a season finale! I did not see this coming at all. Ever since Angelina (Holly Taylor) had this weird obsession with Eden. I thought Angelina might kidnap Eden, but I didn’t see it coming that Grace (Athena Karkanis) would be killed in the process.

AM: It was an action filled, unpredictable and emotional episode. Such a rollercoaster. And as warned – there was a major death, and I didn’t expect it to be Grace. Incredibly sad, she will be missed.

R: Wow! Just wow! I still don’t have any words to describe my feelings about what happened in these two episodes. Mind blowing and pretty damn emotional. I truly wasn’t ready for this one at all. One hell of a season finale. Ending it with a bang. I’ve got even more questions now if that’s possible and I need answers like right now. Please, we need another season as soon as possible.

Angelina seemed nervous and non threatening when entering the house and at no time we saw her picking up a knife. She definitely  kidnapped Eden, but the way the camera cut away when Grace jumped on her made me question if Angelina really stabbed her or something else transpired. What do you think?

R: I mean, no one truly knows what Angelina could be up to in general. Maybe she was the one stabbing her, but maybe there was someone else joining her which we just didn’t see. There truly are a lot of possibilities. However, one can say that Angelina is obsessed with Eden and Grace would do anything to protect her. So who knows what happened? But with everything we’ve seen it kind of leads to Angelina in the end.

AM: That’s a good point. I do feel like it has to be Angelina, considering she was the only one we actually saw. And it would make sense – she seemed desperate enough, and Grace would definitely do anything to prevent Angelina from hurting Eden. And Michaela finding that bloody book on Angelina’s seat, it points towards her. But with this show nothing is certain – and it could be someone else.

M: Hmm, it could be. But for now I am gonna go with that Angelina killed Grace. I mean… who else could’ve done it. After all in the plane Michaela saw that one book that leads to Angelina and it was on Angelina’s seat in the plane. The callings showed them that someone was going to get killed unless they’d stop that person in time. The callings wanted them to stop Angelina from killing Grace, but since Adrian lied about still getting the callings and all of the passengers were divided instead of working together, it resulted in no one noticing what Angelina was up to.

Manifest Season 3 Finale

What do you think’s gonna happen with the love triangle between Mick, Zeke and Jared now? Zeke said that they need to talk. Do you think they’ll figure it out? Or is it gonna end badly for their relationship?

AM: It’s definitely not over. The way they’ve kept building tension, and giving hints for the last few eps…as we knew Jared still has feelings for Mick, and I’m sure Mick also has some feelings for Jared. It also feels like Zeke, with his new power is aware of this. As the #Jachaela shipper I am, I obviously hope Mick and Zeke won’t figure it out, and that it will end badly for them – but I wouldn’t mind if they stayed friends.

M: Well…. it’s far from over. That’s one thing for sure. I think Michaela still has some feelings for Jared too. I mean she was jealous when he started dating Sarah. The way she couldn’t look him in the eyes when he confessed. They were together/known each other for 12 years. Something like that just doesn’t go away that easy. It’s definitely not the least we’ve seen of the love triangle I think.

R: This love triangle will probably be there for a longer amount of time and as of now I sadly doubt that Zeke and Mick will be able to figure it out. Zeke’s words and the way he said it didn’t sound hopeful at all in my opinion. It wasn’t a “Hey can we talk and figure this out?’ but more like “Hey can we talk and try to end this in a grown up way?”. I really don’t like this because I love seeing them together, but on the other hand I just want both of them to be truly happy and I guess that wont happen with them being together and Jared standing there watching them. However, this whole situation still breaks my heart.

Adrian (Jared Grimes) and Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohaili) working together. Did you enjoy watching this duo?

M: It was an interesting duo to say the least. I liked to see a different, new dynamic but both of them aren’t my favorite characters. They got on my nerves and I prefer the other passengers over these two and Angelina.

R: If it’s just about them being the bad guys, then my answer will be a yes. They did a great job in general trying to destroy the life boat and all of that. But as characters I still didn’t like any of them. Too many bad vibes in my opinion.

AM: I mean it was fun watching them, but I never really liked any of them. But they worked well as bad guys for this finale.

Dr. Gupta (Mahira Kakkar) having a change of mind with the tailfin and the callings in general. What do you think about her character development in general?

R: It was lovely getting to see her act like that. Really changed my mind about her. What a great character development. I really thought she would keep focusing on the science stuff and not listening to any other opinion. Luckily I was being proven wrong. Having faith is really important.

AM: I really loved to see that! The story with her grandma was touching, and it definitely made sense from her scientific point of view. But it was really nice to see such a stubborn scientist give faith a seat at the table in the end.

M: It was so interesting and heartwarming to see. Like when we first met her she didn’t believe in miracles and was more focused on science. Now her eyes have been opened and she believes in them too. That was something very beautiful to see. It’s good that they have another person on their side.

Manifest Season 3 Finale

It’s all connected, right? We got a grown up Cal now. Do you think it’s because they solved the most important calling by putting the tailfin back into the sea? Or is there another reason for this to happen?

AM: There has to be some sort of explanation for this, and I’m excited to find out. It will be cool to see him as a grown up now though, very different from what we have been used to. But I definitely believe it has a connection with the callings – and it’s very possible it’s because they solved the tailfin calling.

M: Well, I read this interview where Jeff Rake the showrunner of Manifest explained that missing those 5,5 years was his sacrifice to make. He had to give up all those years and ‘grow into his real age’. This way he could be a better help to the passengers to solve the callings and the death date. I also read this theory that when the tailfin disappeared in the ocean again Cal also disappeared with it and returned with his real age. It all sounds very interesting yet confusing. I am gonna need season 4 to get things to make sense somehow.

R: I would love to keep telling myself that all of this happened because of the tailfin, but I guess there’s another reason for it and hopefully we’ll get some answers in a possible fourth season. Mandy’s theory is quite interesting and sounds pretty realistic if you ask me, but my mind is still so confused. But this has been the cast all the time so I’m not surprised anymore. I guess Manifest and confusion belongs together.

Your final score:

M: I will give it a 9,5. The finale was SO intense and beautifully done. We definitely need a season 4 now. They can not leave us hanging with this cliffhanger! Oh by the way for the people who live in the US. Manifest has come out on Netflix in the US. So if you live in the US please make sure you stream it. This way you can help get the ratings up and the chances for a season 4 increase then!

R: Can’t say anything else than Mandy and Anna Maria already said. This was one hell of a series finale. There was nothing missing in this one. Intense, emotional, action filled and also some sort of confusing again. Well done! Three cheers for the cast and crew and everyone else being involved in this one. I’ll give this one a big 9.

AM: I’ll give it a 9. It was an action filled and emotional finale, which gave us some answers and also some new questions. Let’s cross our fingers that we get a season 4!
