Manifest : Bogey Round Table Review

We are back with another round table review for Manifest Season 3 Episode 9 called “Bogey”. Joining me (Rike) on this one are Mandy and Anna Maria. Are you guys ready? Let’s do this!

Manifest: Bogey Synopsis

Ben (Josh Dallas) reunites with a duplicitous foe. Mick (Melissa Roxburgh) and Zeke’s (Matt Long) dinner party with Jared (J.R. Ramirez) and his new girlfriend is halted by a calling that ignite the Stone siblings to save the life of one of their own. Olive’s (Luna Blaise) friendship with Levi (Will Peltz) is tested.

Your opinion about this episode in general?

R: I really enjoyed this one, especially the dinner party. Hilarious. But I gotta admit, that my Zekaela heart is a bit sad at this point. Doesn’t look that promising anymore sadly. Also Angelina (Holly Taylor) is getting more and more creepy every scene. How’s that even possible?

M: I loved this episode so much. It was so funny with the dinner party and Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohaili) and Ben their comments to one another. Also I love that we finally got a scene with Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) and Michaela together again. It’s been too long since we saw them together on a screen. They truly have a beautiful friendship. One I’d love to see more of. Also Jared outside of his work clothes was a look I could get used to. Hope we’ll see more of that too.

AM: This episode was so good! I’m loving how the couple of last episodes had more humor. And it was good to see Saanvi and Michaela share some scenes, and I even enjoyed the scenes with Ben and the not-so-likable Eagan. It was also interesting to see Olive’s reaction to the identity-crisis Angelina is going through.

Dinner scenes. Awkward or fun to watch?

M: I loved it so much. I thought it was very fun to watch. It was my favorite thing about the episode I think.

AM: I think they were fun to watch! Loved to see Jared teasing Michaela about her cooking-skills.

R: Like Anna Maria already said, I loved how everyone was teasing Mick about her skills when it comes to cooking. But what about a good old pizza and some Netflix, am I right? This whole dinner party was awkward and fun at the same time.

Is Zeke starting to get feelings for Sarah (Lauren Norvelle)? Or do you think he saw something else when he looked at her?

AM: That might be possible. It definitely was interesting, and I really didn’t see this coming. But as a Jachaela fan, I definitely don’t mind if he is getting feelings for her. And I’m definitely getting hopeful, with the way they are starting to stir things up with both Zeke and Michaela’s feelings towards Sarah and Jared.

R: I’m still not quite sure what Zeke saw when he last looked at Sarah and Jared right before they left. This smile. Did he smile because he is starting to like Sarah? Or did he smile because he noticed that Sarah and Jared are truly happy together? I kind of doubt the second option, but who knows? I just want Zeke to be happy, that’s all. But I still don’t trust Sarah. Tough situation.

M: Well… he felt something that’s for sure. I loved the way Zeke looked at Sarah. It was really cute and honestly I kinda ship it. They’d be a cute couple I think and they could give each other truly the love they both deserve. Cause I don’t believe Jared and Michaela are completely over each other, just because they are both with someone else. Zeke and Sarah both deserve someone who will love them unconditionally.

Does Beverly (Adriane Lenox) have the same “power” as Zeke?

R: Your theory sounds pretty good Mandy. It’s probably like that. But with the writers you never know. Maybe Beverly has the same power, but she isn’t quite aware of the fact that she can do it?

M: I don’t think so. When Beverly put her hand on Zeke’s hand she told him what she thought/felt. So I think that Zeke may be able to pass his gift to other people when they touch him. That other people can feel what Zeke is feeling when they grab his hand for example.

AM:That was a bit confusing, but I don’t think so. As Mandy said, I think Beverly just felt the same as Zeke when he touched her.

What’s Eagan up to? Should Ben still trust him and keep him as part of the team?

M: I don’t trust Eagan at all, but I think he is really funny with his witty comments. Even though I don’t trust the guy at al,l I do think him and Ben make a great team together. I enjoy watching their scenes together. I hope we’ll be able to trust Eagan at some point.

AM: I would never trust Eagan, so definitely no. But I agree that he should “keep his enemy closer”. So cooperating with him is probably a good idea, but don’t trust him. And as I mentioned earlier, I did enjoy their scenes together in this episode.

R: He’s definitely a fun guy to watch, but Ben should keep an eye on him. Or better two eyes, just to be pretty sure that he isn’t doing anything stupid. I just hope that Eagan won’t push him out of the lifeboat (if that’s possible). But like you guys already said, better having him as a team partner than having him as an enemy.

Saanvi drops the bomb by telling Mick. Is this going to be some kind of new beginning for her?

AM: I really hope so. Saanvi deserves a new beginning after what she has been through, and I hope Ben forgives her for keeping it secret.

R: Saanvi deserves to be truly happy again. I do believe that telling Mick was at least some kind of a fresh start and it was probably easier than telling Ben. This is going to be more difficult. Hopefully Ben won’t explode once he gets the news.

M: I sure hope so! Saanvi deserves peace and happiness too. So I am hoping with her coming forward she has some sort of clean slate. I am very proud of Saanvi for telling the truth. The truth shall set you free, truly. It was very intense how the callings practically forced Saanvi to come forward or to die.

Olive calling Angelina out on her behavior of copying olives looks lately and now trying to kiss Levi. What do you think about it? Was Olive right to do so? Or should she have approached it in a different way?

R:I think she did it the right way. Confronting her like that. Otherwise she wouldn’t be able to understand it. Also, it’s okay to show all your emotions sometimes. It was hard but completely understandable. Angelina’s behavior really isn’t it. Not at all. Like come on, there are other ways to be a part of this family. You don’t need to copy another person. Be your own kind of beautiful, right?

M: I do think Olive was right to call Angelina out on her behavior, because it was starting to get really creepy. But I think she could’ve said a little nicer than this. I am curious to see how this will end. Will it go better from now on or worse. I have no idea. But I find it also a little sad, because I truly loved their friendship until all of this started happening. I just hope nothing more bad will happen.

AM: I think it was fair of Olive to confront Angelina like that. The way she copied her was creepy to see, and even if it is understandable that she wanted to fit into the family, that was not the way to do it.

Your final score:

M: I will give it a 9,5! I enjoyed the dinner party and the Eagan and Ben team up made it a very good episode. Not to forget Saanvi coming forward to Michaela made it even a better episode.

AM: I’ll give this one a 9, both for interesting storylines and humor.

R: I’ll give this one a 8.5 just because my Zekaela heart is still a bit sad. Everything else was pretty much well done.
