MacGyver must save Syrian refugees from a sinkhole, then ruthless killers, as Bozer’s life is on the line back home

MacGyver Arrives Precisely When He Means To?
Macgyver(Lucas Till) is late…and Bozer(Justin Hires) needs him. MacGyver’s father’s vehicle has been rigged with explosives, and Bozer is trapped inside, unable to move.
Mac has been held up in Bosnia, rescuing some refugees and their guard, trapped in a sinkhole. The guard has been shot, and is in critical condition. Mac and Desi(Levy Tran) are able to save them, but now are in a race against time to save the critically wounded guard.
Trouble Back Home
The bombs rigged to Overwatch’s SUV are unlike anything anyone has seen before. Not even the bomb squad can figure out how to diffuse them. Bozer cannot move for fear of tripping them, and Riley(Tristin Mays) chooses not to leave his side.
Time Is Running Out, Everywhere
The guard was bleeding out, but Mac was able to cauterize the wound with gunpowder, buying the man some time. There is a hospital an hour away, but that isn’t close enough. There is a small clinic nearby, and the group heads that way.
Riley tells Bozer the bad news

Bozer’s leg begins shaking from the strain of keeping it pressed on the brake, and he tries to send Riley away so that he can trigger the bomb, dying in the process. Riley refuses, and tries to calm him. In doing so, she thinks of a way to possibly save him.
The Clinic
Reaching the tiny clinic, Mac must make tools for the doctor to extract the bullet. He is more than able-but trouble is coming. The smuggler wanted the guard dead. He has brought backup to ensure that he dies. Switching off the lights, Mac buys some time. He and the immigrants make stun grenades, and Mac is able to hold the killers off until help arrives-with the sudden help of the immigrants at the end.
Bozer Saves the Day(Mostly)
Using Bozer’s offhand remark, Riley is able to rig the vehicle’s computer system(and the bomb) into thinking a nearby car is the vehicle to explode. They are able to extract Bozer and destroy the bomb.
Back Home
At Mac’s, everyone is celebrating. The refugees are on a fast track to go to Austria, Bozer is thankful for what he does, and Riley likes calling Bozer “Little bro,” but he disagrees. Matty(Meredith Eaton) comes with bad news for Mac; the detonator to the bomb is unlike anything seen before. Someone wants his father dead, and it is personal…
Thoughts
Loved the relationship between Bozer and Riley-their reminiscing about past episodes was sweet and organic in it’s flow.
Mac making a forge was pretty cool!
Desi just doesn’t fit in yet. It seems the character’s writers are trying too hard to make her a RRRRRIOTTT GURRRL and not a well trained woman. I dunno. She just doesn’t “fit” imho.
