Lycoris Recoil “Recoil Of Lycoris” Review

Lycoris Recoil “Recoil Of Lycoris” is the thirteenth and final episode of the original anime of the same name. Following the shocking end of episode 12, the truth is finally revealed. My theory about Chisato working with Majima was nuts but Majima finally makes it crystal clear that he’s going to destroy the DA and that this one final fight with decide what future will win, the one with change or the one where the status quo remains unchanged. Not gonna lie, I was kinda rooting for Majima, I assumed that Chisato would die at some point anyway so thought maybe he should be in with a shot, this fight he loses but it turns out he’s almost impossible to kill cos a drop from the highest floor doesn’t do it.

Mika turns out to not need his cane and also turns out to be a certified badass that’s the most manipulative of them all, he gets the heart for Chisato and she wakes up knowing nothing about it. Everyone goes back to their normal jobs but with a massive difference, they don’t just drop everything for the DA anymore, in fact they all end up having a great time in Hawaii, a place Chisato chooses after Takina finally tracks her down.

All in all this was a satisfying and sweet end to the show. It’s left open enough that there could very easily be more series’ but not so open that it’s a given. The world goes back to how it was but Majima is out there still waiting to cause trouble. They stuck a safe landing, no shocks but pure wholesomeness.
