James Gunn talks Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

It might be two whole years away (that’s a blink of an eye in blockbuster movie terms) but James Gunn, writer and director of both GotG and the upcoming sequel has taken to Periscope, the newest social media outlet to answer questions and provide an update on how things are progressing.

“I turned in my treatment. I’m going in to meet about it Friday and we will start working on the screenplay next week.” Gunn stated and also said that the script is “very, very far along.”

He also revealed that Ronan the Accuser is dead and gone, they may have found a way for Karen Gillan to return as Nebula without needing to shave her head and that Guardians 2 will be in 3D. The sequel will also reveal the identity of Star-Lord’s father and Gunn has talked about wanting to work with Al Pacino (who has met with Marvel and is interested and joining the behemoth that is the MCU).

He talked a little about some non-Guardians related bits, he’s already seen Avengers 2 and “liked it”, he really liked the trailer for Fantastic Four and he “leapt for joy” at the news Spiderman would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is slated for release May 5th, 2017.

Hey, I'm Clare, aka Ciara or C. My current fandoms are RWBY and The Last Kingdom along with a bunch of other stuff I tend to let build up and then binge! I'm a keen, albeit amateur, cosplayer and love attending cons in various cosplays. I'm also the resident comic book girl around these parts, especially small press comics, so if you've got an indie book you want reviewed, I'm your gal! When I'm not doing the fangirl thing I am a keen long-distance hiker, having completed Te Araroa in New Zealand and The Pacific Crest Trail on the West Coast of the US.
