Sink your teeth into this Hottie of the Week
Hey there Shadowhunters fans. Sorry for the slightly delayed Hottie of the Week this week, I promise it’s worth the wait.
Hot on the heels of his Shadowhunters TV Social Media takeover, this week’s hottie is suave head of the New York vampire clan Raphael Santiago – David Castro!
This animal loving cutie appeared in movies such as A Guide to Recognising Your Saints with Robert Downey Jr and 27 Dresses with Katherine Heigl before he landed the role as Raphael. Glancing through his filmography on IMDb I notice he has worked with a lot of actors who are now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe…which has me wondering who David could play in the MCU. Which hero or villain could you see him playing?
He’s certainly been hitting the gym pretty hard, I don’t think a superhero role is out of the question in his future…what about you?

In keeping with the musical theme, David has a new movie called Ruta Madre. David plays a young Mexican American singer who goes on a road trip with his uncle through Baja to reconnect with his roots after a heartbreak. Ruta Madre debuted at the International New York Film Festival earlier this month.
I’m excited to see what Raphael gets up to in season 2 of Shadowhunters. There’s a brief glimpse in this trailer of him facing off against protege Simon while Magnus tries to mediate.

And during his social media takeover this week David tweeted a picture of himself and Isaiah hanging out on the Hunter’s Moon set.

Wonder if this means that tentative alliance between the vampires and the werewolves is still going? I do hope we get more Luke and Raphael scenes in s2. The exchange between the pair when they united to rescue Meliorn in season 1 was priceless.
So here’s to more of David Castro, Raphael’s sass and awesome wardrobe in season 2 – seriously his jackets are fabulous!
