FX’s Shadows Renewed

The mockumentary detailing the lives of four vampires sharing a house in Staten Island has been renewed for a third season. The show’s Twitter account announced the renewal on their account last week:

The show is a spinoff of the comedy mockumentary film What We Do in the Shadows written by Taika Waititi and Jermaine Clement.

The FX show’s regular cast:

Ottoman era vampire Nandor(Kayvan Novak), once a relentless military leader and killer. He’s still a killer, just more picky.

Married vampires Nadja(Natasia Demetriou) and Laszlo(Matt Berry), who squabble, but are fiercely protective of each other.

Day-walking energy vampire Colin Robinson(Mark Proksch)-the only type of vampire that can drain other vampires. And he does drain his roommates. A lot.

Guillermo(Harvey Guillen) is the put-upon human familiar of Nandor. He has actually been Nandor’s servant for ten years. He’s recently discovered a genetic conflict of interest with his desire to become a vampire.

The show is also a magnet for big name talent. Last season’s vampire council episode “The Trial” was a who’s who of actors that have played vampires on both big and little screen, including Wesley Snipes, Tilda Swinton, and Danny Trejo.

This season so far has seen Mark Hamill as Jim the Vampire, and Benedict Wong as Wallace the necromancer, who raises Haley Joel Osment’s Topher from the dead.

Congratulations to What We Do in the Shadow’s cast and crew on their much deserved renewal for a third season!

What We Do in the Shadows airs Wednesdays at 10 pm on FX. The show has mature content intended for adults.
