Fargo – Season 5 Episode 7 Review

Fargo – “Linda” aired Tuesday, December 26th on FX. “Linda” is the 7th episode of the 5th season. Season 5 is about various chronicles of deception, intrigue, and murder in and around frozen Minnesota. All of these tales mysteriously lead back one way or another to Fargo, North Dakota.

In “Linda”, Dot (Juno Temple) takes a fantastic journey. Below is our review of season 5 episode 7 of Fargo.

Overall Thoughts – “Linda”

Amy- Gator’s (Joe Keery) beef with Ole Munch (Sam Spruell) has cracked me up since it all started. He is fighting a battle that I just don’t see him ever winning. Munch is always going to be 5 steps in front of him. Gator has gone and messed everything up when he killed the old lady.

I loved how this was a Dot-centered episode with us finding out about her past and how she ended up with Roy. It broke my heart to see Dot have flashbacks during the puppet show of the abuse that Roy (Jon Hamm) caused her. During Dot’s puppet show, we also got more of a picture of her relationship with Gator and why he treats and calls her mama. Imagine my reaction when we found out she imagined the whole thing! Though we still found out her backstory, just the whole experience she imagined it all. And don’t get me started when Roy entered her hospital room, I yelled at the TV. The man is the worst kind of snake. Jon Hamm plays him so well that it’s beyond creepy.

Clare- Gator has a freaking death wish. Going after Munch the way he has cannot end well for him, especially now he’s killed the old lady. I did like the reveal in Dot’s “flashback” of her relationship with Gator, explains a lot about why he called her “mama” before. Dot’s revelations about her history with Roy and Linda (Kari Matchett) were very intense, but god those women at the refuge were driving me bananas. I wanted to stab someone with one of those woodworking tools! The puppet show scene was amazing though, so well done.

Can we talk about the crash scene at the diner though? That was crazy!! I actually yelped when that truck just came barrelling in. Wow! The ending made me cringe. I am so worried for Dot now that she’s face to face with Roy. Now that we know about her connection with Gator, part of me hopes the kid comes to his senses and helps her out! Did anyone else notice the UFO picture on the wall in her hospital room though? Reminded me of season 2!

Hi, I'm Amy. I was born into the fandom life and was taught all its magical ways. When I am not working, playing video games, attending conventions (where I dabble in cosplay); I am binge watching anything and everything. Though I do have to admit I am more inclined to sci-fi and supernatural genre; though I have a soft spot for historical dramas.

Hey, I'm Clare, aka Ciara or C. My current fandoms are RWBY and The Last Kingdom along with a bunch of other stuff I tend to let build up and then binge! I'm a keen, albeit amateur, cosplayer and love attending cons in various cosplays. I'm also the resident comic book girl around these parts, especially small press comics, so if you've got an indie book you want reviewed, I'm your gal! When I'm not doing the fangirl thing I am a keen long-distance hiker, having completed Te Araroa in New Zealand and The Pacific Crest Trail on the West Coast of the US.
