Disney Eyeing Chris Pratt For ‘Indiana Jones’

Indiana Jones

Disney has just started to turn its attention to reviving the Indiana Jones franchise after buying the rights from Paramount in 2013. Deadline reports that the studio has set its sights on Chris Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around, the role made famous by Harrison Ford in Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

If you haven’t heard of Chris Pratt yet, he got his breakout role from the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation, and his status as a leading man quickly escalated after starring in two of last year’s blockbusters Guardians of the Galaxy, another property that’s distributed by Disney, and The Lego Movie. Later this year, Pratt is starring in Universal’s reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World.

Disney won’t comment and all this is admittedly early. We’ll keep our eye on this.
