There are only so many scenarios that Spiderman can be put into before it starts to get old. However, the new Spiderman reboot seems to be going in a different direction. After the announcement that 19-year-old Tom Holland was cast in the part of Peter Parker, fans of the series were beginning to wonder what direction the movie was going in. As we know, from past movies, Parker had started in high school, then moved onto the real world, working for The Daily Bugle, while fighting crime on the side.
Well the wait is finally over. Director Jon Watts has revealed that Parker is being aged down. The reboot will be bringing Peter Parker back to high school, but this time as a 15-year-old. Speaking with Empire Magazine, he stated:
“There are only so many times you can kill Uncle Ben… I love the idea of making a coming-of-age high-school movie. We’re really going to see Peter Parker in high school and get deeper into that side of it. He’s just 15 now.” (via Yahoo UK)
The first time Holland will be seen in costume will be in next years Captain America: Civil War, before Spiderman hits the big screen in 2017.
