DC’s Swamp Thing Gets the Axe.

DC’s Swamp Thing Gets the Axe.

According to sources, a North Carolina Tax Error is to blame for the cancellation.

The Newest DC character victim getting the ax is the cult favorite Swamp Thing. After cancellations earlier this year, and fears of cancellations from other shows, Swamp Thing had already shut down production early.

According to those in the know on Twitter, the cancellation came not from bad ratings or writer issues, but from a major tax accounting error on North Carolina’s part. This left DC/Warner Brothers with a much larger price tag. Rather than continue with a lesser quality show, DC has pulled the plug. The pilot episode had garnered great reviews, but it was to no avail.

There is zero word on whether the show will be revived via any streaming networks.

The show stars Derek Mears, Virginia Madsen, Will Read, Crystal Reed, Maria Sten, Kevin Durand, Will Patton, Henderson Wade, and Jennifer Beals.

It is official. Swamp Thing has been cancelled, but he is in good company. Right, Constantine?
