Chainsaw Man “Meowy’s Whereabouts” Review

Chainsaw Man “Meowy’s Whereabouts” is the third episode of the Chainsaw Man anime. Following the showing of Power’s power at the end of episode 2, she makes it quite clear that she’s not going to get along with Denji easily as she hates humans. She later elaborates that the only animals she really cares for are cats, Denji lets slip that he’s desperate to cop a feel of some boob so she makes a deal with him; help her save her Meowy from a demon holding it hostage and she’ll let him cop a feel. Obviously he immediately agrees and goes with her to where the demon is that took Meowy. Power betrays him and smacks him over the head giving blood to the Bat Demon but the Demon doesn’t hold up it’s side of the bargain and eats Meowy in front of Power then eats Power. We’re treated to a scene looking back on why Power loves Meowy so much and then Denji finally comes to his senses remembering Pochita and using his Chainsaw powers. He fights the Bat Demon and eventually beats him that’s where the episode ends.

Review

I loved this episode, I kinda saw the betrayal coming a mile off but the fact that Power admitted that she knows how Denji feels with Pochita now was a shock. That and the fact that she was technically telling the truth she just left out the human sacrifice part. I’m pretty sure Power and Meowy are fine, they’ll likely show up from out of the Bat’s guts next episode, it does make me wonder why they cut away before showing that though, they don’t seriously think that’ll be a surprise do they?

Either way, Chainsaw Man continues to impress, it’d have to really mess up now to even be seen as not worthy of best anime for the season.
