I’m a huge Bourne Fan and have the DVD’s to prove it. Jason Bourne was one of those characters that arrived and I loved straight away and when Aaron Cross turned up in the last film I felt the same but was sad not to see Matt Damon return. If you felt the same as me then I have some good news.
Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are getting back together for a 5th instalment in the franchise. They worked together on The Bourne Supremacy in 2004 and The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007 and Matt Damon refused to do another Bourne film unless he was working with Greengrass. At the time the director believed they had taken the Bourne story as far as they could and this led to the Bourne Legacy being made with a new lead, Jeremy Renner, as Aaron Cross in 2012.
Universal announced that a 5th Bourne film would be released in July 2016 and all were thinking it would be another Aaron Cross instalment that would be gracing our screens, but now it appears it may be this new Jason Bourne film instead.
Jeremy Renner fans should not worry though, he will be returning as Aaron Cross in a separate sequel; it is listed on his IMDB page in upcoming projects and will be released in 2016.
I look forward to hearing more as this project progresses.
