I don’t know how many others out there are like me, those who love seeing movie/game concept art and all the cool behind the scenes development stuff that a lot of the time you never get to see. I’m one of those people who is more interested in the “how we made the weapons” stuff on the Extended Lord of the Rings DVDs than I am in the cast commentaries (as hilarious as they are at times).
Well if you are like me then today brings a bit of a treat, some concept art from this year’s Marvel blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy.
Concept Artist Richard Anderson (who also has developed concept art for Thor: The Dark World and Prometheus amongst other things) has published some of the artwork he has developed. We see examples of early concepts for the mall area (where Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Starlord first meet), for the stunning Collector’s museum (the feature image for this article) and also for the space mining colony of Knowhere.

More of Richard’s art is available on his website http://www.flaptrapsart.com/guardians-of-the-galaxy.html
Thanks to GeekTyrant for bringing this to my attention.
