Bond Actor Richard Kiel passes aged 74

I was saddened to see on my feed this morning the news that Richard Kiel who is mostly known for the metal jawed villain Jaws in the bond films The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, has passed away, details have not been revealed.

Richard was Born in Detroit in 1939 has had a career with over 70 credits to his name with films and TV programmes spanning the genre, including most recently voicing Vlad in Disney’s Tangled .  He appeared in TV shows such as The Man from U.N.C.L.E, I Dream of Jeannie and Starsky and Hutch as well as films such as Happy Gilmore, Cannonball Run II and Force 10 from Navarone.

Richard was 7′ 2″ in height and towered over most actors and in 2002 published an autobiography called “Making it big in the movies!”

Sir Roger Moore tweeted how he felt about the passing of his friend saying: “I am totally distraught to learn of my dear friend Richard Kiel’s passing. We were on a radio programme together just a week ago. Distraught.”
