Attack On Titan “Savagery” Review Part 2
Attack On Titan “Savagery” is the 73rd episode of Attack On Titan. Which, due to an earthquake in Japan was split into two parts. The review for part 1 is here.
Part 2 continues with Hanji and Co. Along with the Yeagerists showing just how brutal and cold they can be.
Plot
The story continues with Keith Shadis who is giving “the talk” to new recruits into the army. It’s clear they aren’t listening though. Their minds were made up because of all the bad press the army was getting beforehand. As a result, they aren’t really fully committed and Shadis can tell. He gives them the one two hard arse treatment but it doesn’t work at all. Finally the Yeagerists led by Floch show up with Hanji as their prisoner. They tell the new recruits that they can’t trust Shadis because he’s old fashioned and won’t change to save the world.
Finally they get to the point and ask the new recruits to join them. A few step forward but Floch being Floch demands they show their loyalty by beating the crap out of Shadis. Eventually they all pile on Shadis and he’s pretty much left for dead he’s so badly beaten.
Floch demands Hanji take them and Eren to where Zeke is. Whilst Levi is keeping an eye on Zeke alone, he continually cuts off his feet and legs to stop him transforming.
Review
As stated in part 1 this is definitely a more well paced episode. The pacing gets even more tense when it’s revealed Hanji and company have no choice but to help the Yeagerists. The Yeagerists have pulled this plan off perfectly and are now almost completely in control. It’s tense, scary, and makes you wonder just how far Zeke will go to see out this plan.
Next episode I’m pretty sure will be a flashback one (if the manga is anything to go by) so I think things may wind down before it all kicks off. But for now. We have the tension being built by Eren and his followers.
