The Arnold Schwarzenegger and Abigail Breslin film Maggie is set for a 2015 world premiere thanks to its newly minted distribution deal with Lionsgate.
The zombie flick veers off from traditional family post-apocalyptic narrative when it turns out that Arnold’s character has sworn to stay by the side of his daughter (Breslin) as she gradually succumbs to zombitude.
What’s bad about this deal? Well Maggie was set to debut at the Toronto Film Festival, and now with the newly inked deal with Lionsgate we won’t be seeing the movie premiering any time soon.
Starring alongside Schwarzenegger and Breslin — who has previous experience with the undead in comedy Zombieland and as an action hero actor’s daughter in Signs — are Joely Richardson (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Laura Cayouette (Django Unchained), JD Evermore (TV series Rectify) and Wayne Peré (Empire State).
