Woman Crush Wednesday – Scarlett Johansson
As we all know there are LOTS of amazingly beautiful and talented woman out there in the world. So we thought it would be a great idea to appreciate one special woman once in a while by doing a Woman Crush Wednesday. I’ve got the pleasure of doing this for the first time so I hope I’ll please you all with that.
For this first WCW I chose Scarlett Johansson because come on – she’s stunningly beautiful and as we all know the new Avengers movie just hit theaters.
Who is Scarlett Johansson?
For everybody who doesn’t know her here we go with a short overview of who Scarlett is:
- Born as Scarlett Ingrid Johansson on November 22nd, 1984 in New York City
- American and Danish Citizenship
- Actress and Singer
- Father: Karsten Olaf Johansson
- Mother: Melanie Sloan
As we all know Scarlett had many roles in her life but one of her early roles was playing the role of Amanda in Manny & Lo (1996). Also Johansson was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Lead Female for her role as Amanda and she was only 12!
Transition to adult roles
After playing a bunch of teenage roles Scarlett decided at the age of 19 that she wants to play different roles and that was probably the moment where she got interested in adult roles.
In 2003 she put on two adult roles in Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring.
The moment Marvel came along
Johansson was already well known at that point when she appeared as Black Widow for the first time on Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2. She even dyed her hair red to convince Favreau that she’s the girl for the role as Black Widow.
Johansson learned some Russian for her role as Black Widow in The Avengers as well (what a hard working woman we got here!).
As those two movies were one of the first ones for Scarlett in the Marvel Cinematic Universe some more followed. She played alongside Chris Evans in Captain America: Winter Soldier and in 2015 and 2016 in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War.
As we all know Johansson is currently shown on the big screen as Black Widow in The Avengers: Infinity War alongside our beloved Marvel Characters like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and many more .
With that said I can only tell you one thing – GO TO THE MOVIES AND WATCH THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR!
