Marvel’s The Defenders First Trailer Is HERE!
Today is a good day. Today we get the first full trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders. The trailer brings together Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) in the fight for New York City. CHECK THIS OUT!
Yeah, they aren’t messing around. I’ll give you guys ten or so to rewatch that as much as I have.
*checks watch* You guys done?
WOAH!
The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, the Smart Ass Detective, the Righteous Ex-con and the Kid with the Glowing Fist are FINALLY united! There’s so much in this trailer that it actually needs a couple of rewatches. I mean – we get a look at Sigourney Weaver’s villainous Alexandra in action, Elektra versus Daredevil, sassy banter AND another hallway fight scene featuring all four of our heroes. This looks like it’s going to be epic. I admit I giggled when Matt turned up to represent Jessica and she just looks at him like he’s completely crazy.
Also returning are Matt Murdock’s former mentor Stick (Scott Glenn) and a host of other familiar faces. There’s obviously a fair amount of Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple as she is the biggest tie between the four heroes. There’s also a tiny glimpse of the handle of a katana which surely means the wonderful Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) is back at Danny’s side. Elektra is back too. Now we’ve seen Marvel’s Iron Fist, and Harold Meachum’s miraculous return from death, we know what the Hand were up to putting her in that sarcophagus thingy at the end of season two of Marvel’s Daredevil.
Also, that cover version of Nirvana’s Come As You Are over the top is perfect. Love how the action sound effects almost become part of the music. It’s very nicely done.
Sadly we still have three and a half months to wait before Marvel’s The Defenders hits Netflix around the world. The show will land on August 18th 2017. We will keep you up to date with anything else we hear, and with any further trailers that are released.
