WATCH Exclusive Shadowhunters Season 2 clips

Hot on the heels of the frankly breathtaking season 2 trailer (how many times have you watched it so far? Tell us in the comments) for Shadowhunters, several media sites have dropped exclusive clips from the new season.

Clip 1

In the first from MTV we see Victor Aldertree (Nick Sagar) taking control of the New York Institute and a rather brutal scene of Jace getting tortured

Aldertree is kind of a snivelling little toad, I don’t like him based on what he does in the books anyway but even if I hadn’t read them I’d be feeling this guy is coming off as totally slimy! The Institute is on lockdown which means no rescue for Jace. Okay if the Lightwoods and Clary can’t leave the Institute to save Jace I’m mounting my own damn rescue… who’s with me?!

Clip 2

The second exclusive clip, which was posted on TV Line, features Izzy and Clary sparring while they talk about Jace and Aldertree.

Seems along with the stunning new Seraph Blade designs that you get a brief look at in the trailer, Izzy has also had a weapons upgrade. Check out her whip turning into a snake tipped bo staff… how freaking badass is that?! Clary has clearly been training cos the fight is not as one sided as it would have been last season. Also…as if a lockdown is going to keep these girls from finding their boy. Izzy really is coming into her own, she feels much more independent in this clip.

Sound off and let us know what you think of the clips, the trailer and all the goodies that have come from NYCC!
