WandaVision Episode 2 Spoilerless review

WandaVision Episode 2 Spoilerless review

WandaVision episode 2 airing the same day as 1 was a genius move. I now fully trust Marvel with this show and can’t wait for future installments.

I was looking forward to this episode anyway after episode 1 had me giggling like a nut. But it managed to exceed all expectations.

Plot

Wanda and Vision are slowly but surely settling into their new community. But to help things along, and help them not look like complete outsiders, they take part in the annual talent show. What could go wrong?

Review

I’ll be doing my best to avoid spoilers for this one too. Though that’s alot harder to do than it was for episode 1.

I’ll start off by saying, I think I liked this episode a tiny bit more than the last. The interaction between the couple is still there. What stands out in this episode though is that they get longer separate storylines. Each one showing what they do to try to fit in with their community.

WandaVision episode 2

No spoilers so I won’t be revealing much but each of them chooses a different thing to focus on. Vision joins the Neighbourhood Watch and Wanda has tea hosted by the most influential woman in town.

Once again. The support characters really really shine here. Their interactions with the odd couple who clearly don’t fit in are just magical. Both Wanda and Vision’s reactions to the people they’re forces to socialise with are hysterical and it just hammers home the fact that they just don’t belong there.

Once again, not getting into detail, but the darker tones are handled subtly enough that they don’t become a complete distraction. Though there is more of it in this episode than the last.

Separating the two main characters and having them interact with their own little bubble of would be friends was a genius idea. It really highlights the differences in how Wanda faces challenges vs how Vision does. It shows both of them as much more normal and human and for a split second you do forget that these are some of the most powerful beings on Earth.
