Walker : The One Who Got Away Round Table Review

Season 2 is finally here. Are you guys ready for another roller coaster ride of emotions? This Walker episode is called “The One Who Got Away” and trust me, you don’t wanna miss out on this one. Joining me (Rike) on this round table review is Kassi. Let’s go!

Walker: The One Who Got Away Synopsis

Walker (Jared Padalecki) has concerns over Micki (Lindsey Morgan) going too deep undercover. Captain James (Coby Bell) and the new District Attorney work together to close the case to bring Micki home. Stella (Violet Brinson) and Colton (Jalen Thomas Brooks) team up to solve a mystery while under the watchful eye of Trey (Jeff Pierre).

Your opinion about this Micki-centric episode in general?

R: She is one badass woman and I’m talking about both, her character and herself. Outstanding performance and I’m truly gonna miss her once she’ll be gone. This show is made for her. Can’t even imagine it without her to be honest. She’s perfect at being badass but also at being emotional. With her we are getting the best of both worlds, am I right? She rocks. This episode was truly awesome! No more words needed.

K: Every episode that focuses on Micki is an amazing episode. I feel like this episode had everything in it: funny moments, badass moments and heartbreaking moments. For one, I really loved the bickering scenes between Micki, Cordell and Captain James. They truly are the trio I never knew I needed. It was also interesting to see Micki interact with someone from her past life. I can’t wait to find out whether the reminders of her past will influence her present life or not. Moreover, seeing Micki cry always makes me cry with her so you can imagine how many tears I cried in this episode alone. This episode truly took you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Lastly I want to say that Lindsey always does an amazing job but I feel like her performance in this episode was the best one we’ve seen so far.

Did you enjoy watching the escape room scenes with Todd (Cameron Vitosh), August (Kale Culley), Stella and Colton?

K: Well first of all, was anyone else not surprised that this was something that Trey came up with? Even him just standing in front of the room with such a huge grin on his face was so typical for him. But in all seriousness, I think it was a great idea because they were forced to communicate with each other to get out of the room. Something all of them usually shy away from. I think that because of the escape room they started to see each other in a different light which is a very good thing. Let’s just hope that the relationship between Colton and Stella stays platonic.

R: I did enjoy the basic idea of doing an escape room as a team exercise. It was fun to watch in general. However, the truth was coming out a bit too fast for me. I know, they couldn’t show all the details of it within a 40 minutes episode, but it felt kinda rushed. Like a means to an end. They truly want another love interest for Stella, again. She needs time to breathe. Please. But I do think that August and Todd could become some good friends. Let’s see.

Do you think Garrison (Matthew Barnes) had pure intentions when he volunteered to meet Serrano (Henderson Wade) or was it a trap from the very beginning?

R: Maybe he changed his mind after Micki told him that she has another man waiting for her back home. Maybe he still had hope that they could actually be a thing together. With Garrison you never know. I’m still sad that he didn’t make it in the end. Would have loved to get to know him a bit more. What a mysterious character he was. A bad one. Right? I already miss him, even if he tried to shoot Cordell. He brought some extra spice into this show within just two episodes.

K: I know that everyone loved him but to be honest I never really trusted him. I think one way or another he’d have always made the same choice. But who knows, maybe he genuinely wanted to change. Maybe seeing Micki after all this time made him wish for a normal life. Unfortunately we will never know the answer to this question.

With Serano in custody and Garrison dead, what do you think is gonna happen next? Is someone still watching the Walker family?

K: I think it’s safe to assume that someone is still watching the Walker family. This couldn’t have been a one man job. I think that multiple people are involved in this surveillance operation and that the people who weren’t caught yet are going to continue with it until they are.

R: This definitely can’t be it after like two episodes. There has to be more to the story we don’t know yet. Can’t wait to find out what it’s gonna be. Cordell definitely isn’t safe yet. The whole family isn’t, I guess. There are gonna be more plot twists. You never know what’s going to happen with this show. Could be literally anything. I am scared.
