So we all know that there’s a healthy trend in dystopian movies, The Divergent Series, The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner. Well move over Young Adults, it’s time the grown-ups got to play in the dystopian sandbox.

High-Rise is the forthcoming movie from director Ben Wheatley that aims to bring a very adult take to cinemas. Based on the J.G Ballard novel of the same name, the plot focuses on a doctor, played by Tom Hiddleston, who resides in a tower block that houses all the facilities of a small town, so that residents need never venture outside. Instead their sights are set on moving up in the world, literally, for the higher the level of the tower you live on, the greater your social standing. But it seems like the higher you go, the greater the pressures, and society begins to break down. Sometimes described as Lord of the Flies (a book I adore) for adults, I am very excited for this movie.

Now, who wants to see the trailer?

The teaser defies the current trailer trend by drawing you in without needing to give away large chunks of the plot, leaving you wanting more instead of feeling like you’re just watching a slightly extended trailer once you finally get to the theater!

Also starring Luke Evans (Dracula Untold, The Hobbit trilogy), Sienna Miller, Jeremy Irons and James Purefoy (The Following) the movie debuts in the UK on March 18th. No word yet of a US release date, but we will keep you posted.
