Timeless – Why should you watch this show?
A review about Timeless
When I first read about Timeless I asked myself what is this series about? Will I like it? I didn’t watch the trailer before. I just started watching the show without any knowledge of it than what I got from a message on Facebook. So I dug into the series. Read a few words and found out what it was about. Watched the first episode and got dived into the series.
The official series synopsis says
“An unlikely trio travel through time in order to battle unknown criminals and protect history as we know it. “
But is that what the series actually does?
What is the show about?
In Timeless you meet a historian, Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer), soldier Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter) and pilot Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett) . They travel back in time to stop the time bandit called Garcia Flynn (Goran Visnjic) . Flynn is a character you will soon love to hate or hate to love. It’s hard to tell.
With every episode that follows you get to see a dynamic that unfolds between the central trio. There might even be a bit of love involved.
Timeless takes you on a rollercoaster of meeting famous people from American history. Names like Eliot Ness, Henry Ford, Robert Todd Lincoln, Bonnie and Clyde, Benedict Arnold, Harry Houdini, Bass Reeves, Ian Fleming, H.H. Holmes, Ernest Hemingway, Abraham Lincoln, Roosevelt, Josephine Baker, Nixon, and many, many more. If you think about it, would you not want to meet these famous people? The trio are not alone. Connor Mason (Paterson Joseph), Agent Denise Christopher (Sakina Jaffrey) and Jiya (Claudia Doumit) help them travel through time to stop Flynn… But there is a catch… Can Mason Industries be trusted. In the beginning episodes Rufus is asked by Connor to record everything they are doing in order to give that to Rittenhouse.
Rittenhouse…
Rittenhouse you quickly find out is an organization that wants to take the Lifeboat (the ship they use to travel through time) and use it for themselves but what their actual plan is is not revealed yet. That is still up for grabs and only some characters know what the plan is. Hopefully by the end of the season we will know what big plans Rittenhouse has in store. Or if Flynn will reveal the secret. He knows that they want.
Lucy is the main character of the story, she has a sister and a dying mother. In the pilot episode she comes home to find her sister never existed, just a memory of her and her mother is healthy. Something changed when Flynn did as he did but no one knows what, how or if she can be brought back.
Another few characters you will want to get invested in are Karl (Chad Rook) who is one of Flynn’s right hand men, Anthony Bruhl (Matt Frewer) who’s taken by Flynn in the pilot and starts to help Flynn take down Rittenhouse. Another character introduced later in the season is the character of Emma Whitmore (Annie Wersching ) Now, it’s better if I don’t tell you too much about this character and have you find out yourself of whom she is. Actually, there are many characters I can’t tell you about. You just have to wait and see.
Timeless also has some amazing Guest Stars such as Jim Beaver, Misha Collins, Shantel vanSanten, Sean Maguire, and so many many more. Supernatural fans might be recognizing some of these guest stars, not really a surprise given that Timeless is the latest creation of Eric Kripke, the man who created Supernatural!
A side from all of this, the show also takes up on some very important topics like LGBT representation (Agent Christopher is married to a woman and has two children ) and history accuracy (The Lone Ranger was actual black)

Do you like Sci-Fi and a bit of love? Then my suggestion is for you to watch all the episodes of Timeless before the season finale premieres February 20th on NBC!
