Is Tim Burton bringing ‘Dumbo’ to Life?

Disney‘s Dumbo has already been in existence for over 70 years, but it seems now we may be seeing it brought to life again.  This time however, it is not going to be in cartoon form, but yet as a live-action film.  And who better to bring things to life than Tim Burton.

The director of blockbuster movies such as Beetlejuice (1998), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and Alice in Wonderland (2010) is rumored to be in talks to direct the film.  The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of Burton’s involvement and, as previously reported, “the new take involves the adaptation of original movie adding a unique family story that parallels Dumbo’s story.”  (THR)

Currently, Burton is finishing up Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and there has been rumors that Beetlejuice 2 could be in the making.  If so, will that put a halt on the making of Dumbo? As of now there is no date connected to the film, but the script is just about finished.

So far, it looks like Disney has managed to snag writer Ehren Kruger (Transformers and The Ring) to write the film.
