The Mia Foundation – A Great Cause For Our Furry Friends

The Mia Foundation – Because We All Matter

We all are on Facebook, and see on our feed the pictures and cute videos of puppies and kittens and we all oohh and ahhh and pass them on. One day whilst looking on my feed, I came across a video that just melted my heart. It was a video of The Amazing Mick.

Mick was a six week old Boston Terrier puppy, that had “swimmer puppy syndrome.” Swimmer puppy syndrome means pups can’t stand, sit or walk. I was watching this video and my eyes filled with tears, actually they were freely falling down my face. My heart was breaking for this little guy as I was reading the facts about this syndrome. Warning the video is below. Watch, cry, and continue reading.

I watched this entire four minute video over and over again. His little face melted my heart. This was how I found Sue Rogers and The Mia Foundation. I still watch this video and cry. I can’t help it. What this foundation did for this dog and so many others is heart warming. Helping dogs (animals) of all ages and sizes, when others just tossed them away, makes Sue and The Mia Foundation real heroes and stars in my eyes.

The Mia Foundation was developed to give animals born with birth defects a fighting chance.

So many animals born with birth defects, such as cleft palates or missing limbs, are euthanized at birth. With a little work and a lot of love, these animals give back so much more than anyone could possibly imagine. All they need is a chance!

A tiny little Chihuahua named Mia was the inspiration behind The Mia Foundation. She was born with a cleft palate and it was suggested at birth that she be euthanized. She was given a chance and in return gave much love, hope and inspiration to many people all over the world!

The Mia Foundation - McFly

McFly being McFly

I spend hours on end looking at their Facebook page, facebook.com/LoveForMiaCleftPalateChihuahua, checking in on the little guys and gals that Sue and her amazing team of volunteers are helping. Currently McFly has captured my heart as well as many others. Today, June 23, 2016 this little guy is going under a major surgery. McFly was brought to Sue, he doesn’t have front limbs. No one wanted to give this little angel a shot at life. He was teenie tiny, and had to be fed every two hours. McFly is here today because of Sue and in turn The Mia Foundation. This little guy is alive today because they helped him. He is a mischievous little boy. He has that sparkle in his eyes, that he knows he may be wrong, but I am too cute to get punished.

The Mia Foundation cannot exist without, Sue and her team, and donations from animal lovers. I (Jenn) often donate as I can, as well as bid on items (that are donated) to help. Sue didn’t ask me to write this. I was compelled to do so, because of the great work they do at The Mia Foundation, as I said they are all celebrities and deserve more attention than some of the pseudo reality stars polluting our TVs.

If you can help, that’s awesome! If you can’t that’s ok, maybe pass on their info to someone that may be able to. Or just keep up with all the little babies that they are taking care of, daily!
