Hottie of the Week!

I have contemplated different themes I could use for each week’s post; something to mix it up every now and again. This week’s decision was tough, but after thinking long and hard, I decided to go with charities. Choosing a specific charity wasn’t easy. There are a multitude of commendable organizations in the world, with many going towards the same purpose. In the end, I couldn’t pick one specific charitable organization, so I picked many that all help the same cause, Veterans. This topic is near and dear to me. I have family members who have fought in many wars, but the most recent would be my husband, who is a United States Marine Corps veteran who fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom. So in honor of him and all the other veterans out there, this week goes to you.

How does this lead to my Hottie of the Week you ask? Well, celebrities are always seen in the news donating to charities or speaking up about the causes they support. And for the specific cause I chose, there are a ton of celebrities that speak out for it! So here are a few of these charitable organizations and some of the celebs that support them!

United Service Organization (USO) – a non-profit organization which provides programs, services and entertainment to Military members and their families  (www.uso.org)

Got Your 6 – a campaign that unites the entertainment industry with top veteran-focused nonprofit organizations. The goal of the campaign is to bridge the civilian-military divide by creating a new conversation in America, so that veterans and military families are perceived as leaders and civic assets. And finally, there was a campaign started by Matt Dallas, Steven Grayhm and Charlie Bewley to fund the filming of Thunder Road.  The goal of $250,000 was hit back in October 2013.  The aim of the movie is to bring PTSD to the forefront of people’s minds.  The number of military servicemen and women that experience PTSD is astonishing.  This film is being made so people can get a first hand view of what the life of a service member with PTSD is like.  (www.thunderroadfilm.com)
