The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Only four more episodes left of the Baby Yoda Show
This Star Wars: The Mandalorian review contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.
The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 4 “The Siege” Synopsis
Episode 4 is called “The Siege” and was directed by Carl Weathers, who also plays the bounty hunter boss Greef Carga. Once again it was written by series creator Jon Favreau.
The Razor Crest is falling apart and The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) has no other option than visiting his old friends at Nevarro again. Maybe they are able to help him out, not like Baby Yoda. But of course, he needs to do something in return. What about taking a short excursion to an old Imperial base? In conclusion, action is definitely pre-programmed.
The plot, Acting, and Characters
Just when you thought Baby Yoda couldn’t get any cuter, here he is breaking our hearts all over again. A tip: Don’t let him try to fix the ship, because it doesn’t end well. But one can tell, that the little rollercoaster scene was quite hilarious. A little bit gross, but still kind of cute I guess? You shouldn’t eat too much before flying with Mando. I guess he learned his lesson now.
One can say, that Nevarro has rapidly changed since Mando helped depopulate the planet of Imperials in Season 1. Now there are things like for example: a bustling marketplace full of smiling people, a classroom with a protocol droid who teaches youngsters about the galaxy’s trade routes and you might notice even more stuff.
As I already mentioned, some old friends will be back on screen and some of you might be happy to see them again. Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and Cara Dune (Gina Carano). When those three are reunited, there’s nothing better than going on a mission together. They are kind of an unstoppable trio. At least for now and I hope that this situation will remain.
Of course, I don’t want to pre-empt anything, but I’ll say this much: This mission is not just about destroying an old Imperial base. It is far greater than this. Get ready!
Final review
We are already halfway through Season 2 and in my opinion, they’re moving in circles with their major storyline. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to see some old and familiar faces again, but the main mission is, to learn more about the child’s origins. As for now, there are still no updates about that. Nevertheless, this episode is my favorite one from this season. Some action combined with Baby Yoda’s cuteness. What else could you possibly ask for?
We would like to hear your opinion. Let us know in the comments or via social media, and don’t forget to join us next week when we will be back reviewing the next episode.
If you need to catch up, don’t worry! Season 1 is available on Disney +.
