FN Top Choices for The Batman Co-Stars

Who would you choose if you could choose The Batman Co-Stars? With the recent reveal of Robert Pattinson’s casting in The Batman, it is only safe to say that the next round of casting announcements should be on their way.  So we have decided to put our heads together to come up with who we think Matt Reeves and Warner Brothers should consider.

So far, from rumors surrounding the movie, there are a possibility of 6 villains that Bruce Wayne will be up against.  However, the only two characters that have really been circulating have been Penguin and Catwoman.  But who would Bruce Wayne be without Alfred?  Now, we have to remember that the casting is for a early 30 year old Wayne, so we also need to consider ages for the other castings that could occur.  So here are who we think are the best choices:

Alfred (Alfred Pennyworth)

Miranda:

1st Choice:  Gary Oldman – I think he has the personality and the versatility to pull off Alfred.  Add in he’s British and it’s a done deal from me!

2nd Choice:  Gerard Butler – I don’t know why I am picking him.  He’s just got that mysterious look about him.

Jenn:

1st Choice: I guess it just depends on the age they are making Batman. So I can see Michael Sheen as Alfred. After just watching Good Omens, I can basically see Sheen in any role. He is the perfect choice.

2nd Choice: Colin Farrell. I think he can add a level to the role, that we have never seen before.

3rd Choice: Richard Rankin. Richard has a way of talking with his eyes, and adding the right amount of snark to any situation. I think he would a make a great Alfred.

Clare:

1st Choice: This one is a little out of left field but I would love to see Michael Keaton in the role. As a former Batman himself (some might say THE Batman) he could bring a certain something to Alfred that I don’t think any other actor could capture.

2nd Choice: Another left field choice, but Dougray Scott has a certain down and dirty roughness about him, the same energy as we’ve seen from Sean Pertwee playing Alfred in Gotham.

PurpleBrina:

1st Choice:  I only have one choice for this role and it is Idris Elba. I just feel he has the perfect build and accent for this role.

Penguin (Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot)

Miranda:

1st Choice: Bill Skarsgard – Seeing his transformation in Stephen King’s IT adaptation, I think he could really bring this role to life.

2nd Choice: Seth Rogan – His comedic persona and overall body structure just scream Penguin to me.

Jenn:

1st Choice: Robert Sheehan! He can play any role and make it his own. His portrayal of Klaus Hargreeves, in The Umbrella Academy makes me think he can be PERFECT and the right amount of twisted for this role.

2nd Choice: Richard Madden. He can play twisted in ways that no other can, and we all know how twisted The Penguin can be.

Clare:

1st Choice: Seconding Jenn’s of Robert Sheehan.

2nd Choice: If I can’t have Sheehan then I’d actually like to see someone like Alberto Rosende from Shadowhunters. I think that could be a really interesting take.

PurpleBrina:

1st Choice:  Jonah Hill – He could  totally pull that off and be funny yet be scary evil with a limp. But I do like Miranda’s  pick of Seth Rogan too.

Catwoman (Selina Kyle)

Miranda:

1st Choice:  Tessa Thompson – Yeah it won’t happen since she’s in the Marvel Universe, but she kicks ass and takes names and would be awesome in this role.

2nd Choice:  Mila Kunis – she’s sexy, yet mysterious and that’s how I can see this role going.

Jenn:

1st Choice: Kate Beckinsale. She is sexy, sultry, and let’s be honest looks hot in leather.

2nd Choice: Shailene Woodley. She has shed her good girl, long locks and I think she can be a perfect match for Bruce Wayne.

Clare:

1st Choice: Underrated and underappreciated, especially after the train-wreck that was Marvel’s Inhumans, but I think Serinda Swan would make an excellent Catwoman.

2nd Choice: I miss the campy, OTT vibes of the Tim Burton Batman movies, that’s why my second choice would be Erica Durance. I think she could do a lot with the role.

What do you think FANdemaniacs? We’d love to hear your fancast suggestions for the roles that have been mentioned so drop them in the comments or hit us up on social media.

PurpleBrina:

1st Choice:  Rihanna –  I have seen her in a few movies and she was pretty good. But I think she would kill as catwoman.

2nd Choice: Vanessa Hudgens – I know I know she has a disney feel about her still but I think she could sexy it up and be an amazing catwoman.

The Batman Plot

Not much has been said as to the plot of the film.  We know that it is not a standalone, but rather Reeves has signed on for a trilogy.  Reeves did however announce that his take on the Caped Crusader would be a noir-style narrative that focuses on Batman being the world’s greatest detective, something the movies have not touched upon all that much up until this point.

Filming is scheduled to begin later this year/early next year and be released to theaters on June 25, 2021.
