Iconic Actress joins Marvel/Netflix Team
Yeah, you read that right. Legendary actress Sigourney Weaver is joining the Marvel’s The Defenders series. I am not going to list her previous credits cos frankly if you don’t know who Sigourney Weaver is I’m not sure what you are doing here…turn in your nerd credentials and walk away slowly, we won’t mind. Either that or stick around and get excited like the rest of us!
During the epic Marvel panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday, Sigourney joined the Defenders themselves, Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter and Finn Jones, on stage as it was announced that she would be playing an as yet unannounced but important part in the show. Various other sites are reporting that she will, in fact, be the main villain of the series!
“Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever! She is by definition a class act,” said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television. For sure can’t wait to hear more on this. Marvel’s Iron Fist is the last of the build up shows for Marvel’s The Defenders and that will be coming to Netflix in March 2017. Hopefully this means we will be seeing The Defenders team up by the end of 2017!

The Punisher himself, Jon Bernthal, was also on the panel and announced that Daredevil’s Karen Page, Deborah Ann Woll, will be joining him on the Daredevil spin off. This makes me super happy cos Castle and Karen had such epic chemistry in season 2 of Daredevil.
