Superman and Lois Man of Steel Roundtable Review
We are back again with our Superman and Lois Man of Steel Roundtable Review. We are finally getting some answers on just who “Captain Luthor” (Wolé Parks) is and he is a heartbroken husband. On his Earth he watched his wife get killed by a red eyed, very angry, black super suit wearing Superman. PurpleBrina, Rike and Clare get into it.
Superman and Lois Man of Steel Synopsis
Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) struggles to help Jordan (Alex Garfin), who is grappling with a new power; Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) enlists Clark’s help, which leads to a surprise encounter.
First things first, Tyler in the black super suit, thoughts?
PB: I loved it. I kinda love seeing the super suit in any color that isn’t the traditional colors. And Tyler looks pretty damn hot, anything or nothing at all.
C: Yes. Just… yes.
R: Hell yes! Black is like my favorite color and it definitely suits Tyler. I mean, he can wear literally anything but this black super suit is another level. I really do like the vibe.
Do you think “Luthor” is right in his thoughts of killing Superman?
R: Seeing those flashbacks, I understand why he acts the way he does. At least there’s a reason. Revenge. But he needs to see that these are two different worlds and that Superman isn’t the same he used to be. Things changed. This doesn’t change the past and what happened there, but for now he should try to calm down. They don’t need to be best friends as long as they don’t try to kill each other once again.
C: I think I get where he is coming from, he’s worried that what happened on his Earth is happening on this one and wants to stop Superman/get revenge for his wife’s death. But that makes no sense cos he clearly saw that Superman was trying to stop Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner) from using the X-Kryptonite to make more superpowered people. I guess he’s just so fixated on getting his vengeance that reason doesn’t come into it. Also…how did he get to this world? With the Crisis event merging all the possible earths does that mean his daughter is also there, or did she get poofed out of existence during Crisis? There are more questions than answers here.
PB: I don’t think so. I know he is hurt and heartbroken but Clark/Superman of this earth isn’t the same as the one from his. I honestly want to know how he got to this earth, I thought Oliver merged them all or something like that. And I thought no one but the Superheroes new about the merge of worlds. I am a little confused.
How do you feel about Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Lois teaming up together?
C: I think it could be a great team up, but could also put them both in a lot of danger. It already had with Lois. I think Edge is already suspicious of Lana, given the way he went behind her back to “hire” her friend cos he thought she was withholding something.
PB: They will be a power team but I just hope Lana’s husband doesn’t snap and do something crazy if he finds out.
R: I actually kinda like Lana, so them teaming up is a great idea! Like PB already said, I do hope Kyle won’t destroy this whole thing going on right now. But I can definitely see it happening one day. Always there for some drama.
Jordan and his uncontrollable powers, do you think his stubbornness has anything to do with it?
PB: His kid is too much, he needs to relax and stop fighting it so much. Being a teenager is hard enough but being Superman’s son and having super powers is a lot to handle. He isn’t handling it well at all.
C: I absolutely do. If he’d listened to his dad about focusing on one thing at a time when he was trying to help him then things would have gotten much easier. Also if he hadn’t been so desperate to play in the damn football game in the previous ep and had ignored the fact his brain was on the verge of exploding and just told his dad.
R: It’s a tough one. He’s definitely trying, but with everything going on it’s not easy at all. I get that. He just needs some more time and he definitely needs his family being there for him. There will probably be a few more arguments, but besides that I hope he’ll be able to control his super hearing power. About the last part of the question: He’s definitely stubborn as well. But I guess that’s also a teenager kind of thing, right?
Do you think he will have a handle on his powers before the end of this season?
R: If he’s a fast learner then the answer is yes. But I can also see them ending with a pretty bad thing, where Jordan hurts someone he loves. Hopefully I’m wrong with this one and he’ll just get used to it sooner rather than later.
C: Well it took him a lot less time to get a handle on his super-hearing than Clark said it took him so hopefully if he develops anything else then he’ll get it under control just as fast. I’d really like him to listen to his dad a bit more though.
PB: I really hope so because he might hurt someone else if he doesn’t.
