‘Star Wars Episode 7′ Holds Open Casting Call in U.K.

Meetings begin Nov. 9 in Bristol

The Force is calling for bright, pretty young things in the U.K.
Under the disguise of a generic movie featuring young male and female leads, Disney put out a casting call in Blighty for what is being interpreted as the studio’s upcoming seventh “Star Wars” installment.
The open audition was publicized via Twitter early this week.
In the announcement, Disney says it’s seeking someone to play Rachel, a young woman 17-18 year old, as well as a character called Thomas, who is aged 19-23 years old. Presumably, the characters will be Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.
The casting call, which has stops throughout the U.K. and Ireland, starts next week.
Disney recently announced helmer J.J. Abrams and “Star Wars” vet Lawrence Kasdan have taken over screenwriting duties, replacing “Toy Story 3″ writer Michael Arndt.
It’s sensible that Disney is looking for U.K. talent, given that the production is scheduled to begin Spring 2014 at Pinewood Studios in London.
Pic has a projected 2015 release date.
