Soundtrack Sunday: Friends

This week for soundtrack Sunday We are remembering a Sitcom that filled our lives for a decade, from 1994 – 2004 we watched the lives of 6 Friends as they struggled through life, much in the way we did, the show tackled money issues, life issues, work issues, losing family and finding family. It showed us that sometimes our friends are the family we choose and they can be just as or even more supportive than family. That’s right this week we are listening to some of the songs from the hit TV show Friends.

The show gave us Joey Tribbiani an actor who at times was a success and at others out of work and struggling, much like most people who take on that sort of career, he loved his sandwiches and his woman and we all loved his not so high level of thinking. Chandler Bing Joey’s flatmate who had a job that no one really knew exactly what it was, he had a third nipple and a run of failed relationships until he fell in love with one of his best friends. Dr Ross Geller who used to go to college with Chandler, he is a palaeontologist who starts of finding out his Lesbian ex-wife is pregnant with his child, he has a few bumps in the road including over the course of the show being a divorced 3 times.
Monica Geller, Ross’ younger sister who is a chef owns the apartment across the hall from Chandler, it is the place they spend the most amount of time in and is witness to Monica and her relationships, her loss of job and many thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Rachel Green who starts the show turning up to the coffee house in a wedding dress after she ran out of her wedding and moves in with Monica with whom she went to school with, trying to make it on her own, she goes from a job in the coffee house serving the wrong coffee and ends up in her dream job in fashion, she has a few relationships but the main one is with Ross who had a crush on her since they were younger. Phoebe Buffay used to be Monica’s flat mate and is a masseuse she occasionally sings her truth telling brand of music in Central perk and has a different view to life, she didn’t have the best of upbringings living on the streets after her mum killed herself and a twin sister with whom she rarely talks too, but she has a good way of making you feel happy when things are down.
So let us listen to some of the songs that really makes you remember the show and some iconic episodes.
