What happens to SAMCRO when their brother, who has always been the club’s conscience suffers as a result of Jax’s need for vengeance? Going up against Marks is not like going up against Pope, as Jax reiterated to the club, in fact it’s worse. You can’t start an all out war and expect no casualties. First the slaughter at Diosa, and now as we saw in the final few minutes last night, Bobby is the next target, Although he’s still alive, he’s missing an eye. The message is clear, it’s going to take more than blackmail to shake Mr. August Marks.
The episode started off with Jax giving Juice his cut back, as they are all standing by the side of the road when JT died, and later pay their respects. We don’t know what was in fact discussed between Juice and Jax, but I can safely say that Gemma is still in the clear. What we do know is that Juice is being used as a pawn. After he rides off, he proceeds to shoot out some cops tires, and eventually the cops catch up to him and he’s arrested. Come to find out, Jax’s plan is for Juice to take Lin out while in prison, but if he fails Tully will kill Juice. The club is all Juice has, so I don’t see Juice holding back, even though he knows Lin is not responsible for Tara’s murder.
While Jax and the club are busy plotting against August Marks, Gemma is cracking not knowing what Juice told Jax. I’ve never in all the past seasons seen Gemma come so unglued, or tear up so much. When Nero pays her a visit at TM, he wants out of Diosa and away from all the craziness. He also wants Gemma to come with him, to his uncles farm. Reluctantly, Gemma agrees to think about it. But we all know that Gemma will never leave her family.
Before Nero can talk to Jax about walking away from Diosa, he helps him identify the nasty pimp Greensleeves, who’s been blackmailing the preachers wife and stepson. Greensleeves is a real piece of crap, a fight ensues, and even his prostitutes start throwing punches at SAMCRO. Everyone gets away, but one. A lovely little street walker named Winsome. It seemed to me like some flirting was going on between Jax and Winsome. They were able to convince her to tell them where they could find Greensleeves and that she could have a better career as an escort at Diosa. It didn’t take long for Jax to find Greensleeves, and throw him through the window. A messy suicide indeed, according to Chibs.
The biggest shocker aside from what happened to Bobby was Gemma’s confession to baby Thomas. After Gemma is asked to go to the lake house, she’s certain Jax knows the truth. Fearing she’s never going to see her grandchildren again, as she’s holding Thomas she confesses that it was an accident and he she didn’t mean to kill their mother. As she repeats it over and over again while sobbing, Gemma doesn’t realize that Abel is in the doorway and heard everything. The look on his face says it all, and he understands. The most disturbing scene came when Wendy checks on them at bedtime. Thomas is sound asleep in his crib, and Abel appears to be sleeping too, until she leaves the room and Abel just opens his eyes to a blank stare. I’m so scared for him, even though he is young, he’s been affected the hardest.
The second shocker of the night came when SAMCRO and the Mayans were waiting on August Marks. An hour late, his associate shows up with a box. In the box is Bobby’s patch, a video showing them taking his eye out with a grapefruit spoon, and lastly a container with his eye in it. What a devastating scene to watch, and the pain on their faces as they watch the video is unbearable.
There are so many questions left unanswered. How did Marks people know where to find Bobby, especially since he was in a car and not on his bike? Who has been spying on SAMCRO? What’s going to happen to Bobby now? What’s going to happen with Abel?
