Snowpiercer – Meet the Characters
With a week to go until the premiere we feel like now is a good time to meet the characters of TNTs Snowpiercer.

Melanie Cavill
Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) is Snowpiercer’s formidable Head of Hospitality, wielding political power and access to the very top. But Melanie is haunted by her secrets, and morality has become a moving target. In the fragile balance of survival, she makes hard decisions and struggles with doing terrible things—even if for the right reasons.
Andre Layton
ANDRE LAYTON (Daveed Diggs) has spent almost seven years locked in the train’s “Tail,” a leader to his people and a revolutionary to the core. He also happens to be the world’s only surviving homicide detective, so he is brought uptrain to solve a murder that could upend life on Snowpiercer.
Ruth Wardle
RUTH WARDLE (Alison Wright) is Melanie’s fastidious right hand in Hospitality. Fanatically loyal, she’s a dedicated enforcer of the Order that defines class on Snowpiercer.
Brakeman Bess Till
BRAKEMAN BESS TILL (Mickey Sumner) is a savvy and empathetic Brakeman, a member of the train’s police force. She’s just looking to find love and her place at the end of the world, when she finds herself partnered with Layton, unravelling a crime that rocks Snowpiercer’s status quo.
Jinju Seong
JINJU SEONG (Susan Park) is Snowpiercer’s Head Agricultural Officer, with a passion for marine biology and a part-time gig as a sushi chef. One of Melanie’s closest confidantes, the secrets Jinju knows strains her budding relationship with Brakeman Till.
Bennett “Ben” Knox
BENNETT “BEN” KNOX (Iddo Goldberg) is an engineer through and through, and he knows Snowpiercer’s systems from tip to tail. He’s also Melanie’s confidante and one of the few who knows the deepest secrets of the train.
Josie Wellstead
JOSIE WELLSTEAD (Katie McGuinness) is a proud Tailie, Layton’s comrade in arms and surrogate mom to Miles. She is a committed, caring revolutionary, brave and desperate enough to sacrifice everything—including her love for Layton.
Miss Audrey
MISS AUDREY (Lena Hall) is the alluring, deeply intuitive madame of the Nightcar, the train’s cabaret and brothel. She provides tailored psychic services to Snowpiercer’s traumatized survivors, and she’s privy to all their fears.
LJ Folger
LJ FOLGER (Annalise Basso) is the nihilistic teenage daughter of the powerful Folger family in First Class. After almost seven years on Snowpiercer, she’s almost as conniving as her parents, ROBERT (Vincent Gale) and LILAH (Kerry O’Malley).
Brakeman John Osweiller
BRAKEMAN JOHN OSWEILLER (Sam Otto) is a crooked but good-humored Brakeman who Roche thought would make a good project for Till. But his penchant for violence—and hers for justice—creates a great deal of conflict in their partnership.
Javier “Javi” de la Torre
JAVIER “JAVI” de la TORRE (Roberto Urbina) is Ben’s watch partner, an engineering lifer, dedicated to keeping the train running. But Javi’s going stir crazy in close company, and he knows too much to get out unscathed.
Zarah Ferami
ZARAH FERAMI (Sheila Vand) is Layton’s ex-wife. They stowed away on Snowpiercer together, but she escaped the hell of the Tail to work uptrain in the Nightcar. Now their paths cross again, with the ghosts of their past haunting their relationship.
Miles
MILES (Jaylin Fletcher) Raised collectively by the Tail and whip-smart, young Miles has the potential to get a coveted apprenticeship uptrain. He carries the hopes of the Tail on his shoulders.
Lead Brakeman Sam Roche
LEAD BRAKEMAN SAM ROCHE (Mike O’Malley) is a family man and Snowpiercer’s wry, veteran cop who has seen it all. He prefers to stay out of politics, so he’s not happy when Layton becomes his responsibility.
Pike
PIKE (Steven Ogg) is a volatile Tailie gang leader, who, as Layton’s rival, may be more interested in chaos than a real revolution.
So that’s it for our Meet The Characters of TNT’s Snowpiercer. I am a fan of the original Bong Joon Ho movie starring Chris Evans so I am interested to see how this show compares.
