When the Starlight Ends Comes to Amazon Prime, Director’s Cut Rumored to Follow
Outlander star Sam Heughan & Arabella Oz star in When The Starlight Ends, premieres on Amazon Prime
When the Starlight Ends, a film which made a splash at The Other Venice Film Festival last year, has come to Amazon Prime.
The film, which pits Outlander lead Sam Heughan in the title role opposite Arabella Oz (daughter of Dr. Mehmet Oz), earned director/writer Adam Sigal (Daydreamer starring Aaron Paul; The Two Dogs; A Voice in the Dark) a variety of industry awards and accolades, including “Most Excellent Feature Film Director” at The Other Venice Film Festival.
Rounding out the cast are David Arquette (of Scream fame), Sean Patrick Flannery (The Boondock Saints), and AlexAnn Hopkins (Sun Records).
When the Starlight Ends tells the story of an eccentric writer named Jacob (Heughan) who loses the love of his life and his writing muse Cassandra (Oz) when he chooses his work over her. Haunted by this decision, Jacob relives every moment, both real and imagined, searching whether he made the right decision, and becomes determined to write the perfect ending for them.
“I’ve been getting a lot of questions about When the Starlight Ends, and here’s where I come out on it: the actors in the film are incredible. The cinematography is amazing. I battled for 5 years to get it made, and there is a lot in it, of which I’m very proud,” said Sigal. “In the end, it’s my baby, and I love all of my babies, indiscriminately. If you see it, and feel any way about it, feel free to reach out to me. I do my best to always respond to people who take the time to watch my films.”
Sigal has just wrapped production on Sargasso, a true-crime-based drama inspired by his actual work as a private investigator. Starring Jeremy Sumpter(Pan), Graham McTavish (Creed, AMC’s Preacher), and Tom Berenger (Platoon, The Big Chill, Inception), Sargasso will be ready for the festival circuit in May.
When the Starlight Ends is available now on Amazon Prime.
