Shadowhunters – Heavenly Fire Spoiler Free Preview
Synopsis
Simon (Alberto Rosende) and Izzy (Emeraude Toubia) team up on a secret mission to figure out what the Clave is hiding. Meanwhile, Clary (Katherine McNamara) is conflicted about Jonathan (Luke Baines) as the Shadowhunters try to get answers.
This is an action packed episode, featuring a new face and the return of a few Downworlders we haven’t seen in a little while as Simon and Izzy investigate the Clave. There were a couple of times throughout this episode where I checked the running time because I was so sure so much had happened the episode must surely have been almost over. It truly is that packed full. There’s also major development in Clary and Jonathan’s relationship. And we pick up what’s happening with Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) and Alec (Matthew Daddario) after Alec telling his mother last week that he intends to propose. See, PACKED I tell ya!
I’m going to pick out a few highlights that are as unspoilery as possible, so buckle up! Obviously if I’m not talking about your fave, it probably means it’d be too spoilery to do so.
The Morgensterns
Clary goes to see her brother to try and find out more about the Morgenstern sword. She does get some good intel out of her brother. On the other hand she also finds out something that makes her question their relationship even more. Honestly, Luke Baines broke my heart at least twice in this episode and left me desperate to give Jonathan a hug. If it turns out to all be a manipulation (which I feel it must) I’m going to be equal parts pissed off and seriously impressed!
Also we get to see some more of the Queen of Hell. Lilith (Anna Hopkins) plays a very important part in this plotline, and it made me truly love to hate her!
Heavenly Fire
Obviously given the title, the quest to find Glorious is the driving force this week. As the synopsis says, Izzy and Simon team up to try and find out what’s going on at the Clave. This plotline gives us not only Izzy fully checking out a shirtless Simon (and who can blame her) but also introduces a new face. We also see a few returning characters we haven’t seen in a while. I won’t name names as I don’t want to give too much away, but be prepared to want to punch at least one of them in the face!
THAT DINNER
Okay, Malec fans, brace yourselves. I don’t want to say this but have you ever heard the phrase “The course of true love never did run smooth”? There are some bumps in the road, and you’re going to want to stock up on tissues. Again. It was a strange ending to an episode that seemed to otherwise be building up nicely towards some kind of climax.
Shadowhunters – Heavenly Fire airs on Freeform Monday 8th at 8pm (7c). After that it’s available worldwide on Netflix from Tuesday 9th.
