RWBY Vol 8 Chapter 12 – Creation Synopsis
It’s risky, dangerous, and nearly impossible — but it’s the best plan they’ve got.
What did you think of Phase One of our heroes’ plan? What was your favourite part?
C – EMERALD (Katie Newville) KICKING IRONWOOD (Jason Rose) IN THE FACE. NORA (Samantha Ireland) SMASHING HIM WITH HER HAMMER. MARROW (Mick Lauer) USING HIS SEMBLANCE… I had a few favourites. I loved the plan. Especially the way they used Qrow (Jason Liebrecht) and Robyn (Cristina Valenzuela) as a distraction to get Ironwood alone.
N – I agree with Clare, I really did love the Emerald scene. We’ve really seen a complete flip in her character over a few episodes. She has definitely seen the right side to be on. Definitely getting a heavy down with Ironwood feel from Clare’s answer haha, he definitely got his ass handed to him. He barely got a chance to fight back which makes sense as he was striking out of anger, whereas everyone else was coordinated.
S – AMAZING! Penny morphing into Emerald and revealing everyone behind her THEN kicking Ironwood in the face. HA! Everyone took a shot at him which I kinda loved but Winter (Elizabeth Maxwell) delivering the final blow, I was clapping at the screen. Can I just say who the hell does Harriet think she is? Thinking she can take on Qrow, pftt please. Snooty little jumped up child needs a reality check. I did enjoy Marrow being the one to stop them.
C – Yeah, I’m so glad Marrow put all of the Ace-Ops in time out with his Semblance, although I would have liked to see them all get a little bit of a beat down first.
Phase Two consisted of using the Staff of Creation… What did you guys think of Ambrosius (Valentine Stokes)?
S – I think he is my new favourite! He is so excitable, his eyes practically light up when they are explaining what they want him to do. Especially when they summoned him the second time round and he’s like ‘oh it’s you again’ then he gives them a dire warning and fades out lol.
C – I LOVE HIM. He is FABULOUS! I love the way they’ve taken the genie myth – that you make a wish but it can be twisted if you aren’t specific – and worked with it! Honestly, I hope we see him again.
N – We’ve had a few creative geniuses throughout but I loved his character especially the fact he likes to break down designs and see full blueprints before making his move. Which I can get behind, as I’d definitely handle situations like that.
Ambrosius made Penny (Taylor McNee) a real girl. Nathaniel, you doing okay?
N – I’m not doing great, Penny is alive which I’m over the moon with but I could have definitely done without watching her robot version dying quite graphically. However as happy as I am there are some things that I’m worried about in the episodes to come which are: one of Penny’s big characteristics was the fact she wasn’t human, however still had a soul so I’m nervous to see how Rooster Teeth are going to portray her in the next few episodes and I’m worried that after this volume she may become a background character.
My other worry is I really hope we’re not going to see a change in her appearance too much. I loved Penny’s style so I’m hoping we’re still going to get some clothing that represents the way her legs flared out.
There is also a possibility we won’t have the lovely green glow and maybe replaced with the ice blue from the winter maiden powers.
Overall I’m happy she’s still alive but I am so nervous to see what there going to do with her in the following episodes and volumes.
S – She’s a real girl! The robot dying was really creepy TBF, and I do wonder what Penny’s semblance will be. She is still the Winter Maiden so she should still be able to fly. Is she gonna have to find a new weapon? And can someone get her some shoes!
C – I am so happy she’s still alive but I am full of wonder at what they are going to do with her now. How her Semblance and weapons will change, how she will handle the Maiden powers as a human… it’s going to be very exciting!
N – I agree with Sophie another thing I’m excited for is to see what happens with Penny’s weapons. The blades will be out so what now?
The evacuation plan seems to have worked. Everyone is off to Vacuo…including Cinder (Jessica Nigri). Given that she has the lamp, and with Tyrian and Mercury already there, any guesses as to what she has planned?
N – It can’t be anything good, the staff and the lamp in close proximity. We know there’s going to be a fight and I have a horrible feeling that we will lose someone and I definitely think this horrible gut feeling is reinforced by what Ambrosius mentioned earlier about not falling off.
I would like to state as always if anything happens to Penny, I’m going into hiding.
S – Can you imagine being in Vacuo and these doors pop up and everyone from Atlas suddenly arrives.
C – Nothing good at all, especially once she works out that Penny is now human and has the Staff of Creation…
If anyone has read the books After The Fall and Before The Dawn we know that teams CVFY and SSSN are currently in Vacuo. Anyone excited for a reunion?
C – YES YES YES!!!! I’ve read both books, and seeing them in the little montage at the end of the emergency broadcast back in Chapter Five of this Volume had me absolutely giddy. I can’t wait to see them back in action and I hope it happens soon! Knowing so much more about CVFY in particular I really want to see them contribute to the fight against Cinder, Salem and the rest.
S – I loved these books, if this does happen at least there will be some friendly faces on the other side. It was really good to find out what those teams went through after the fall of Beacon. If you haven’t read these books yet I really recommend them.
N – I haven’t read the books yet but I’m still excited for a reunion, as Clare said the emergency broadcast was a great scene getting to see a glimpse of characters we haven’t seen in a while but I’m excited for some actual scenes that are longer than just a glimpse.
