RWBY Vol 7 Chapter 3 Discussion
It’s that time again RWBY fans. Sophie and Clare have watched RWBY Vol 7 Chapter 3 and immediately got down to chatting about it.
Okay so first things first, EVERYONE got a new look this week. What do you think?
C – definitely loving Jaune’s (Miles Luna) new do and I think I might wanna cosplay new Nora (Samantha Ireland). But my favourite thing is what Pietro (Dave Fennoy) has done to Gambol Shroud. There’s a tradition in Japan called Kintsugi, which is where you mend broken pottery, for example, with gold. It highlights the breakage but also makes it beautiful.
S – Everyone looked amazing, Qrow (Jason Liebrecht) <3 loving his new look! I never understood how people could have crushes on ‘cartoon characters’ until Qrow… With his new look, it just gets better! Now I get it, I totally get it! Nora and Ren’s interaction about the new outfits made me giggle, Jaune picking up the slack again 😀 the way they introduced everyone was brilliant too, I actually loved every minute of this episode up to the last 30 second of course!
Ships seems to be sailing left and right. There was that cute Bumblebee moment at the start where Yang commented on Blake’s new hairdo and then it seems a new ship has set sail. What do you think of Fair Game (Qrow X Clover)?
C – I am shipping it HARD! I have previously been all about Qrow and Winter but good god did you see Qrow’s face when Clover (Christopher Wehkamp) was CLEARLY flirting with him? I am 100% here for it!
S – I think the Qrow and Clover moment was one of my fav’s this time, Qrow’s face was priceless, it’s like he has been downtrodden for his semblance for so long just to have someone turn round and say yea and?…. So I am totally feeling that ship too! Does it have a name already though? That was quick!
C – course it does, the fandom apparently does NOT hang about!
What did you think about the fight in the old Schnee Dust Company mine?
C – I thought it was really cool, especially the Geist Grimm using dust in its possession. The location was pretty cool too, and I think it has more significance than Blake let on (check out #2 of the RWBY comic if you want to see what I mean). Also JAUNE FINALLY HAS A LANDING STRATEGY!!!!!!!
S – I love how that was the first thing you said to me after we had watched it! The fight scene though – AMAZING!!! Team RWBY and JNR standing there in awe of what they were seeing, Ruby (Lindsay Jones) was practically drooling. Interesting comment about Ruby’s speed semblance too, peaked my interest! I also loved the victory dance they were doing at the end.
C – YES! I am definitely interested to explore Ruby’s semblance some more after what Harriet said.
How you feel about the gang still hiding things from Ironwood? Oscar (Aaron Dismuke) clearly has an issue with it
S – I think they are playing it safe, as much as it sucks to be hiding everything they have learnt, they need to be careful I really hope Ironwood is someone they can trust.
C – Yep, totally agree that they need to be more careful with who they trust at the moment, given everything Ozpin put them through. Especially with Ironwood being all about defending Atlas and pretty much to hell with everyone else.
S – I kinda loved how Ruby left the relic with Oscar, but I couldn’t help but think in the back of my mind that Ozpin was going to re-emerge and run away with it!
C – could still happen… sneaky bastard Ozpin!
S – The devil is in the details and I spotted a few little things I wanted to point out…
1, we are 3 episode in and I have only just realised that in the intro Oscar is with Team JNR… 2, Yangs new glasses – no idea where I am going to find a pair of those for my cosplay… 3, Jaune looking longingly at what I presume was Pyrrha’s sash… 4, Qrow has shoulder pads, very 80’s. 5, Ruby going all Ruby when seeing Harriet’s semblance, her eyes twinkled! And finally Blake’s upgrade Gambol Shroud has a flash of yellow on the blade….
C -1 – I hadn’t noticed that AT ALL. Hrmmmm, interesting. 2 – I’m sure we will find you some! 3 – Yeah, that was a cute moment. 4 – Didn’t notice that either, was too busy shipping him and Clover! 5 – To be honest, I was right there with Ruby, Harriet is BADASS! 6 – see my first answer ^^
So… the last 30seconds… Tyrian being creepy as ever, thoughts?
S – So Forest was clearly the one on the ship when the gang was arrested (I knew we would see him again) I am really intrigued now! With a name like that I can’t help but think he was a Happy Huntress (well a grumpy Happy Huntress), Then Tyrian just pops out of nowhere and fills him full of holes (I would imagine as you don’t actually see it).
C – Given this video I think Forest is well and truly done for.

Someone has to find the trail of bodies Tyrian is leaving and start asking some questions. And I’m betting it’s going to be the Happy Huntresses!
