Star Trek: Picard Review | Season 1 Episode 2 – Maps and Legends

The time is here again my dear Star Trek fans. Welcome back to my weekly reveiw of Star Trek: Picard. This week we got the second episode called Maps and Legends of the brand new show!

If you haven’t watched the first episode yet, please be aware of spoilers when you continue reading this post. I still hope that you guys will enjoy this review as much as I enjoyed watching the second episode of this already great show!

Official Episode Synopsis

Following Dahj’s apparent death, Picard seeks to track her twin Soji down. With the help of Laris, he travels to Boston and investigates Dahj’s apartment – finding the place completely scrubbed. This is accompanied by the revelation that the assassins may have been part of the Zhat Vash, an organization even more secretive than the Tal Shiar that holds a deep-rooted hatred of synthetics. At the Romulan reclamation site, a relationship between Soji and Narek is quickly flourishing. Picard appeals to Starfleet for a ship, but is denied by Admiral Kirsten Clancy. Fuming, he begins to assemble his own crew, inviting Agnes Jurati, and the estranged Raffi Musiker on-board. Meanwhile, Clancy informs Commodore Oh of Picard’s request in good faith and asks her to look into it. Oh notifies the (secretly Romulan) Lt. Rizzo to have her undercover operative “stay on mission”. Via holo-communicator, Rizzo speaks to Narek, her operative and brother. Rizzo warns Narek that if he does not persuade Soji to reveal the location of her fellow synthetics, she would be forced to take more extreme measures.

Review

So as it seems after the first episode.. Dahja is dead but she got a twin called Soji, that Picard has to find now before she gets killed as well!

Oh no so Jean-Luc Picard is sick? Can they just not let him suffer already please?? Him suffering from dementia? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Now that means the clock is ticking for Picard to have some last adventures.

It seems as Bruce Maddox uses the DNA of Data to create an army and as we have seen in this episode the androids go kinda nuts and destroyed the Starfleet on Mars.

Picard trying to overcome the Federation and they just don’t believe him?! Him asking for a small crew to find out what’s exactly going on out there.

The Federation doesn’t get to decide if a species lives or die.

YOU GO CAPTAIN PICARD! And still his request got denied.. I think we all know that this was definitely the WRONG decision of the federation (as usually).

To summ it up a little. The explenations of the first episode are continuing in episode two as well. I have a big feeling that this is the upbuilding of a huge story that is coming our way. We just have to be a little patient. At least that’s what I’m hoping for!

I’ll definitely keep you posted with reviews about the upcoming episodes each week. If you watched Star Trek: Picard too we would love to hear your thoughts about it in the comments below!

See you all next week for another review!
